Weight Loss Support Thread!!!
Welcome Shadow, congrats on day one. I want to shed a few pounds myself. I have lost a few in the past few weeks just from moderating but feel the time has come to bite the bullet and get rid of those last few nasty, jelly belly pounds.
So day one on this weight loss journey. I hope I can combine the no alcohol, weight loss thing and get this body back in shape for it's last hurrah before menopause. I want to turn some heads until I'm too old to care.
Dropping the white carbs. Meat, nuts, fish, veggies and fruit for this abber. Also, the occasional non-alcohol beer.Tipplerette

Hi Tipple, Dest and Shadow.:wavin: I don't post often here, but it does help to keep me mindful of my weight loss goals.
Yesterday we had a baby shower for a co-worker after work. There was cake, cookies, nuts and potato chips. I didn't eat ANY of it!!:yougo: I know people were surprised because usually I'm the first one in line, lol. I left after she opened all of the presents, and she said at least take some cake home! I said no, I don't care for any. Hee hee, it felt good to walk away from all those calories.
Not losing as fast as I'd like, but still going down. I'll post my loss on Friday.
Keep up the good work guys!!

Kudos to you Library Girl for walking away from that food. You've had practice with the booze so your willpower is getting stronger. Great going.Tipplerette

I will take on this challenge...I gained 25lbs on anti-depressants and really want to get it off. Today is day 3 for me sober and feeling pretty good about it. I bought some fat burner on Monday and hoping to start the gym tomorrow.

I have been going to the gym for 7 weeks, have toned up but still have the tummy. Also, the legs arent getting smaller. I have quit for a year, then 6 months. Have moved from wine to gin, almost a big bottle a week. I am so afraid of the quiting, the non sleep, the moods, but I am getting so much healthier going to the gym. My drinking is holding me back, need to do it but scared. I know it is killing me.

I would love to join you. I only need to lose 6 more kilos but they seem the hardest. I am day 6 second time around and last time I replaced AL with sugar. I have been so flat I just know its my diet and exercise that can help. I am still working out how these threads work so hopefully I can follow Along.

Hey Didz, good luck with the 6 kilos (whatever that is in pounds!). Paleo and walking/jogging is working for me. Making sure I don't replace the desire for alcohol with sugar and carbs. I now stress more about a potato than I do alcohol - lol!You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life? Rumi

I wanna join!!!
Okay...so, day 2 AF and day 2 on my healthy path.
I am 26 y.o. - gained 50lbs from alcohol (said I know) so I weigh 170lbs (was 180 and was AF free beginning of May and lost 10lbs). Am 5'6".
Going back to the gym and going to eat as clean as I possible can.
Trying to avoid high calorie beverages...since I don't drink my wine anymore I am craving latte's and such more often then not. Which is weird because I never did before.
Anyways!
Oh! Someone mentioned apps and such...I highly recommend LoseIt (google it or go to Lose It! - Succeed at weight loss with Lose It!) and it's like Facebook for people trying to lose weight. Or even Spark People. Jillian Michaels is kick ass.
And I highly recommend going onto YouTube and type in ZuzkaLight or ZWOW and you can do @home workouts there...or even BODYROCK.tv | Fitness Advice, Workout Videos, Health & Fitness | Bodyrock.tv. Home workout movement.
Good luck everyone and congrats on the weight lost so far!
