One Step at a Time - June 2012

    Hello everyone.

RC - you're such a great support here. :l I haven't tried the watermelon juice yet. (I've been eating a lot of watermelon though. )

Cindi - great on the 3 weeks and WONDERFUL on feeling positive.

I overslept today (no comment Sunni ). Things are great here (except my kitty being in the hospital). Drinking thoughts are very small, back of my mind type things. I can handle that.

          Hiya Peeps.

Just dropping by to say hello!!

And to say that I'm so happy for Biz that the trial is over and justice was finally done. It must be a huge relief to the whole family.

RC, thanks for the link about the benefits of lemon juice. I didn't know it could help reduce blood pressure and cholesterol or that it is so beneficial to the skin. I like to make a big 1-1/2 litre bottle of cold green tea and I add the juice of four lemons into it. I make the tea with hot water and stir some honey into it, then add ice cubes and cold water and the lemon juice. It's a lovely, refreshing drink. Greek food uses a lot of lemon as well - on practically all kinds of meat and of course on fish and seafood as well as greens and salads. And the smell of lemon zest is in a category all on it's own.

Cindi - huge congrats on three weeks AF. Your body will thank you for it, as well as your mind. :goodjob:

Nora - enjoy the kiddies. Hope you have a great summer with them!! Hope your kitty is better soon. Any idea what made it sick?

Sun - best of luck on getting through the next couple of days. Even when it's not a relative who has passed away, funerals are never easy and are even more difficult when people we are close to have lost one of their loved ones. Sending you strength. You'll get things straightened out when the time is right.

Mama - keep up that positive attitude. It's working well so far. :goodjob: to you too!!

Nice to see a few men posting here. The Army has gotten down to only two male members and Mr. Tipster is recovering from the man-flu. Luckily, Reccie is still strong and kicking.

Zen - I would have been embarrassed to ask for an autograph. I was just kidding. Now, it would be totally different it it was Harrison Ford or Joaquin Phoenix (right K9 ).
They don't know what's wrong with Cheddar. Blood tests & x-ray came out good. I'll pick her up tonight with antibiotics. We'll have to give her injections to keep her hydrated. Poor kitty.

Cheddar - what a neat name for a cat. Let me guess, is she the colour of new cheddar - orange cat. Or does she like to eat the mice that eat the cheese? :H

Either way, I hope she is better soon. I hate it when our pets are sick. What if you put a little juice from canned tuna in her water bowl? Would she drink more water that way? Just wondering. What Zennie-butt said about the wet food as opposed to dry. I don't know that much about cats, but it makes sense to me. My doggie Freddie doesn't do well in the heat. He drinks a lot of water but he only eats about half of what he eats in the winter so we have to feed him doggie treats so he doesn't lose weight. Poor little guy is getting older. He must be about 14 or 15 years old now. Even when we go for a walk, he is always pulling over to the shady side of the road.

                What's "The Killing" about?

Mama, :H:H:H about the fire hose. You certainly have your own way of expressing things.

Our niece named our kitty. Cheddar for cheddar cheese. :H
Cheddar has not been eating. We even tried giving her 'people' tuna but she barely touched it. We do feed them a mix of wet & dry. We have 4 cats & 2 dogs. They eat us out of house & home. :H Cheddar has always been skinny & goes thru periods of not feeling well. But, this time was worse.

Yes - Mama is ZANY alright. :H
