One Step at a Time - June 2012

    Morning Steppers,

Still feeling a bit shaky here despite blood sugar being okay. Perhaps I am just being too aggressive since my hospitalization.

I have lost about 20 lbs, though, which is actually not good because it is because I am unable to eat much at any one time.

Otherwise, though, the days are floating past with me sober and that is good.

I am looking forward to a change in routine. I hope to find employment I enjoy and that makes some money to help with household expenses. A good routine to follow would be good for me, too. A chance to meet new people and develop some friendships would be awesome, too!!

Off to check out the books. :-)

    Love,
    Cindi

You know what I've noticed. Cindi was posting about this yesterday. But, it's really hitting home now. If I'm overly tired, I get cravings! I feel exhausted right now and have thoughts. I had never noticed that before.
Hey Mama - can't you get some more xanax?

Hi everyone, taking ODAT and am on day seven. Seems like this is a comfy thread to peruse and post in. In Quebec we had a long weekend as it was St. Jean Baptiste day and I managed to make it through at the lake house with no boooooze. That is giving me the momentum to keep going. That and reading all your posts with your honesty, determination and sincerity.

Thanks for starting this thread... one foot in front of the other...

Thanks, Zen, it's not much of an accomplishment but it's a step along the way.

Let me add to that Tipper: if you think it's an accomplishment, then it bloody well is an accomplishment! No gain in comparing ourselves to others. Ya hear? :goodjob:

Well done Tipple, I have also got to seven days, and don't intend to give in without a fight. I am going out for long walks and riding my excercise bike to try and sleep better, because when I don't drink insomnia is my enemy, as it appears to be for a lot of people with al problems

                          Hi all,
Looks like my post from this morning got lost in cyberspace, or maybe through my brain lapse. It's always easier to blame the computer.

Mama Bear, how scary to find yourself with your hand on the doorknob after you have come this far. We can never let down our guard.

I look forward to an af day off tomorrow. I've recently been in a bad rut of drinking, but I'm ready to stop now. Thursday will be easy, and that will be day 7 already. Feels so good!

Tipplerette, congrats on Day 7, that is a great milestone. I'm just a couple of days behind you and going strong. You, Paula and I can hang in here together. We have a wonderful cheering squad.

I'm off to a gardening meeting tonight, and want to put a little ham in that beet soup I made last night before I go. I don't eat a lot of meat, but ham is a great flavoring for soup.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.
