Hi Zen....jojoba is a good carrier oil and great for the skin. There is s show that I watch on TV called "Everyone Nose" and it's all about aromatherapy....it is very interesting.
Hi Mama...I am on facebook although I have been on this site far more than FB lately. It is hot here too....it was 105 yesterday. It is very uncomfortable. I feel so bad for my horses....the only thing I can do is hose them down at night. I have the fans going in the barn but it just blows hot air.....ugh! You should try growing lavender inside the house....it smells awesome!!!!!
AJ....I have a terrible time sleeping in the early days AF too! I am soooooo tired during the day yet when I go to bed I just stare at the ceiling. When I do fall asleep it's not for that long and I keep waking up. Good luck and I hope you get a good nights sleep!AB Club Member

hubs said I snored all night...took a while to fall asleep, buit finally did. The buzz was immediate, I felt like fell into the rabbit hole! Whoa! But slumber took awhile.
Very groggy now, but should be fine after coffee.
Have to go to family lakehouse for the day. It's gonna be over 100 degrees.
Des...too bad you can't take the horsies to a lake.......they like swimming don;t they?

Hi all,
Another AF day! I'll be doing church this morning, then going up to the lake to see a couple of big ships that are docked there, followed by dinner at a nice waterfront restaurant. It will be a little cooler than yesterday, good time to be out.
Dest, the thought of moving further south for warmer winters has crossed our minds, but come summer we know we are in the right place. I can add layers to be out in most cold weather, but the opposite doesn't work in the heat!
I made some lavender scented neck warmers once, gave them for Christmas gifts. They were filled with rice, just warm breifly in the microwave. I also have some clumps on lavender in my garden. It is lovely to look at and smell, and so long-blooming. The deer don't bother strong scented plants, so I can enjoy it easily.
RC, twig furniture is lovely, sorry you had to part with it.
Sleep seems to be the theme here, I do love mine. I often go to bed to read as early as 8:00. Many moons ago I used to stay up and drink, but those days are long gone. Some people use the supplement melatonin to aid sleep, I believe.
Take care, all.My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Well, I have been reading this thread for about a month. I have gone to the gym about 3 or more times a week. Have been afraid to weigh my self, the waist feels so large, also my clothes don't fit. I was 5'5, 132 for years, now I am this morning 149.4. So has the drinking done this, is it the fact I turned 55. I will continue to exercise, eat right and God help drive to give up the gin.
I am so afraid to go through withdrawl, I even see that when I cut down I can't get to sleep.

Hi everyone, welcome Meggie, alcohol does cause weight increase, approx 120 cals per 1 measure of gin or any spirits more in beers, a good reason to abstain. Going to see my son this afternoon, another good reason not to drink. Sundays are usually my worst times for drinking, but no intention to indulge today. Mama, great that you have a doc you can trust, worth such a lot. Hope everyone has agood sunday..

Hi Mama....I have a pond behind one of my pastures but the thought of snakes really freaks me out! Plus, with my luck, he would roll while in the pond and I would have to ride home soaking wet....ewwwwww....talk about chafing! Ha!
Sun...I am originally from Long Island...born and raised there...actually I was the 17th generation to be born there. There was always a breeze off the ocean or the bay...but the humidity was pretty intense....although right about now a dip in the ocean would be nice!!!!! I do love the winters here though...especially with the horses...no frozen water buckets and when it does snow we enjoy it for a day and then it's gone! HA! I am so jealous that you are going to a seafood restaurant for dinner....I miss seafood!!!!!! Enjoy!
Hi Meggie....the lack of sleeping in the beginning is frustrating but it does get better!!!!!
RC....thanks for that link...I am going to check it out!
