    Army Thread Monday 18th June

    Good luck day oners....

I decided to leave the wrist shiny until after the summer and go hire a cello instead... Weds is the first time I can get out. May pop in for an ear hole at the same time

Cello and beginner book, I'll record my first notes so Molly can have a laugh at me. I'm gonna teach myself so it could be painful and very frustrating too....
I have a drink problem, I have been AF since 15 March 2011 and I am working hard to stay that way

They don't call me Pingu Purple Pants for nothing....

Oh good luck with the cello Pingu it will be a great challange for you and keep your mind occupied. Oney i seem to be a bit like Rob where i go wks af then cave in and binge. We're all differant types of drinkers i guess. I might reward myself with a shiney when my 3 month project is up with the centre. I'm going to get my right upper ear pierced. My third ear piercing. i got it done a few years ago but it hurt so i took it out so i'll try it again. Would like a tattoe on my foot too something not too big. Morning Jackie. Jan is not about much either nor limers but i see them posting on fb from time to time.

Howdy all troopers! Hope everyone is feeling serene and full of good energy! Monday is almost over - I'm just about to head out to an AA meeting before I retire to bed - I'm lucky as there's one at 8.30pm about two mins walk from my home.

Wishing you all a beauty of an AF Monday

Here I iz, here I iz!!

Good morning (a wee bit late) Troopers!!

Best of luck to Zennie-butt, Reccie-bear and Rob.:l

Good to see you back, Mrs. A. Now I want a detailed list of what you ate and what you liked best. Glad to hear you enjoyed Ithaki.

:wavin: in general to all of you and whoever is working today, whether at home or outside of, I hope you all have a productive day with as few embuggerances as possible.

We had a very full weekend. Shopping and some extra housecleaning on Saturday and then older son dropped by for a visit in the evening. Then yesterday we went to his and his fiancee's place to officially meet her parents and give the traditional gifts to the future bride and groom. Younger son and girlfriend joined us as did the fiancee's brother and his wife and wee girl. And older son's best friend who will be best man at the wedding was there as well. Our soon-to-be daughter-in-law cooked all the food herself and it was outstanding. In fact, I asked her for the recipe for two of the dishes because I was so impressed by them. We got home late afternoon and then a cousin of Mr. Stirly's and his partner dropped by and it was late by the time they left.

I think Pinky will have news from her job interview today if I'm not mistaken. Fingers and toes crossed.

                    Anyone heard from Satz?

                    Hope you all

Not sure when Satz is due back - I thought she'd only gone for a week but I reckon it must have been 2 - so she'll be back Fri/Sat so I think.
And mammy prayers for Pinkster --- d'ya'know I really think they work - honestly! Not a religious bone in my body but certainly as regards Joey's exams it was a case of 'needs must' Achully went into a church in Drogheda yesterday to say a little thank you to 'someone' - hadn't been in a church since my mums funeral and it felt a bit wierd - but nice
Ah Molly, I don't usually have a problem meeting new people. It's Mr. Stirly that usually has me anxious. He always says something that upsets one of us one way or another. His sense of humour is such that he doesn't always see that what he thinks is funny could be insulting to someone else. Or he'll bitch about something when he could have kept his gob shut. And he didn't disappoint me one bit. No more had we met the parents who arrived about half an hour after we did and he started complaining loudly that older son had specified that we be there at 1 pm sharp, and no earlier and because we got to the area early, we spent 20 minutes driving around. I just casually said that I had thought we should leave earlier as there might have been traffic on the road. The fiancee's father continued on the conversation with me about the traffic and except for saying that no, it's not always a good thing to arrive early, ignored Mr. Stirly's protest. I could see that our son was upset tho' especially as he'd made a trip out to our place the night before to ask his father to please be careful what he said in front of these people since we were meeting them for the first time. Mr. Stirly was furious of course that his son had told him to watch what he said but, to his credit, except for that short outburst, managed not to let on that he really wished he was somewhere else. Mind you the other people showed up so he had others to talk to. He did spend a fair amount of time out on the balcony smoking which wasn't the best thing to do when he could have been talking to these people and showing at least a slight interest in them. Instead he ended up talking footie with younger son and older son's best friend. Oh and he talked business with younger son while out on the smoke deck. I mostly ignored him and chatted with the others and had a grand time playing with the little girl. She's just over 2 years old and is a sweet little thing. I had met her for the first time a month ago. I'm not sure if she remembered me or not but it didn't take long til we were playing hide and seek and dancing to music on the i-phone. Jaysus, how I go on and on....:H

Molly, I'm not a religious, go to church type person although I do believe in a higher power and I'm a great believer in positive thinking and vibes. I do go into a church occasionally and light a candle for someone. I believe that some good will come from my actions and my positive wishes and the churches I go to are small and definitely give me a sense of serenity.

Must be off to the banks and the shops now. See you later on the boards. Hope your day goes well.
