Work was OK, thanks Reccie. We're rather busy at the moment, but I actually prefer it that way.

Yep it does. Reccie, I just realized you asked me something a couple of days ago that I saw the next day and never did answer you. The three-bean salad I make has cooked beans. Although I like green beans raw, the salad has cooked beans. I also posted my shrimp recipe on the Undies thread earlier today and yesterday I made that spaghetti sauce that uses the portobello mushrooms. Mr. Stirly looked like a hoover the way he ate it. Never said a word, just shoveled it all into his mouth.:H

              Hiya stirly!

Thanks for that. I've actually got chickpeas bubbling away now so that I can make the salad for lunch tomorrow. I've been trying out a number of your recipes and they're all good! :goodjob:

Hope all is well with you?

I see the politicos in Greece have been able to form a new government, Stirls. I hope the situation there will at least stabilise a bit as a result.

Good for you Reccie. Glad you liked my recipes.

I'm fine, thank you. I just got back a while ago from another walk around town and I quite enjoyed myself. And I had a very positive experience today. On Sunday morning, as I was walking Freddie, I noticed a dead kitten on the side of the road. A cute little tabby. It made me sad, especially when the next day I found it had been mangled by some other animal. I hate things like that. This morning just a few yards from the dead kitten, I could hear a kitten mewing in the underbrush. I walked over and as soon as it heard me, it started to come out of hiding. I shooed it back in to it's little nest and walked home as quickly as Freddie would let me. I spent some time trying to contact someone who could come and get it because I couldn't keep it here for more than a few hours. First of all I have no place to put it that the mewing wouldn't keep us awake and second, Mr. Stirly would not be at all happy since I brought home a stray three years ago and ended up keeping it for a month. Anyway, I finally found this woman who said she'd come and get it within a couple of hours, so I went an got it and put it in the shower stall. Mewed it's little head off, ate a wee bit of food, drank some water and slept on and off. Unfortunately it took her 5 hours to come and get it instead of the 1-1/2 to 2 that she had said but she did show up. She is a volunteer and works at her own expense. Turns out she had been attending to a dog that someone had poisoned and that's why it took her so long. The good news is that the dog will be okay and little kitty will soon have a new home. She said if she couldn't find someone to take it, she'd keep it herself - she has another 25 cats and several dogs. Lovely lady.

                    :wavin: Tipster!!

That's a real shame about the kitten that died, stirly, but it's great that you were able to save the other one. Hope you enjoyed having it in your house for those few hours....I would have!

                          Evening all,

So sorry after your friends mother, Molls.

Love the kitten story. Wish we could have a cat but I'd have to adopt out Mr JC as he's allergic.

There is no footie tonight on so I might, I might, oh this is just so hard to say......I might have to talk to Mr JC.:upset:
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Dawg only knows what will happen here. The leader of the party that came in second - with 27% of the votes - one of the communist parties but not so very left-wing swears that he will block any attempts by the government to pass bills having to do with the memorandum. The words of the top people in his party were that "we will build a wall around the government, higher than the Great Wall of China. Not a single law will be passed concerning the memorandum. We are now a party to be reckoned with and we will aim to be the elected party and form the government ourselves in the next elections."He will call the unions to strike and do whatever he can to overthrow the government. They asked him to form a government along with the conservative and socialist parties that came in first and third and he refused. In the elections of October, 2009, his party got a mere 4.6%. In the elections last month, they got 17% and this time they got 27%, so they are hoping that this new government will fail (with their help of course), and that in the next elections, they will win. What they're not considering is what will happen if they manage to do what they want to and the memorandum is not passed, what will Greece do without the money we need? Anyway, enough of that. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the three parties, conservative, socialist and communist that are forming the new government will finally be able to turn things around and find a solution to our problems.

                                Hiya JackieClaire. How was work?
