Wow, thankyou everyone.
AA, I t is a Eucalypt but I don't know which species. The local horticulturalist didn't know either, But it has beaut fibrous bark which bird strip to build nests. If you think that's big, I'll post a pic of the Tasmanian Blue Gum that is right in front of the house. And it was trimmed 2 years ago by council as it overhung the street.

Gabby, yep, it's my house. As a friend said to me, beige should be a mortal sin.

The bit of gravelly stuff on left hand side is my Aussie zen garden.
Will post a pic of it if you'd like with rainbow serpent river, and southern cross rock formation, and a stone I brought back from the ruins of a mission in Central Australia where Aboriginals had been forced to live in WWII (long story) and these wonderful nuns went with them and built a mission and cared for them.
My little Buddha statue sits on that special stone. So my little meditation place has a 40,000 year cross cultural meaning.
If you would like to see pics, let me know. Oh and you'll get a pic of my bantams including the lucky one which has twice been mauled by the same dog...and is now happily back laying eggs for me.
