Morning Undies all, not so cold here this morning but still darkish. Up early to chat with Mr Happs before he went to work, he slept 14 hours last night so I needed some catch up time. HE probably didnt this time of the morning BUT...might make some bread since I have an hour before work...

Good to hear your feeling better Ronnie, think I might try the cheesecake recipe a la Ficks too. Speaking of which, Ficks?

Off to whip out the K..K..K..K..Kenwood....

I'm still coughing, but feeling much better. Went for a long walk around the harbor this morning ....... very crispy but I was well rugged up! Harbour was still and flat and there are beautiful clear blue skies. Wish I had a Reggie camm so I could show you. One of these morning I'll take my camera

Rags - that fig and proscuitto one looks amazing even if it didn't taste so good! I love figs,, but they are so expensive here. So how much were they??? $2.50 each? More?

Gidday to everyone else yet to check in!
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Late lunch check in from me. Spent the morning in the biggish little town - optometrist will relieve me of a quick $750 for new specs but the biggest outrage is ... bought fish 'n chips for two. 2 x Flake and minimum chips = $15.80. Yikes! Makes the Friday night ritual of my childhood look a bit impossible now.

                        Noice pizzas, Raggsy!

Cheeses twice - that's a rip-off. Or are living costs just very high in Oz?

Tha's like over ZAR130 - enough to buy fish 'n chips for six (at least).
                          I'll do whatever it takes

Hiya Tips. Don't know about cost of living here -v- anywhere else. I was just a bit stunned. Maybe because I've been out of the take-away loop for so long. But I do remember 10,000 years ago, my little aussie mates had fish and chips for dinner on a Friday night and it was a totally working-class, affordable meal(?). I throbbed getting an invite to their place...
