    Wunderoos July

Missy I would use the nylon tape too, as the others would be too bulky for the material your using,
I'm still busy sewing curtains, freind doesn't only want one pair but five pair, plus sheers for bathroom and laundry, but I don't mind, I enjoy it, love the sound of a sewing machine going brrrrrrr....

the other thing, if you find that pins don't stay in the voille, use scotch tape to keep the hems in place.. it makes it a lot easier.....

Lilly - wow! what a generous friend you are :l

I thought I might do the tacking routine once I've ironed all the seams. That would work as well as scotch tape wouldn't it?

Can't get in to the vet until tomorrow morning. I have however just sold over $500 worth of stuff for my mate and he's starting to look a little less miserable. There's still mountains to go ... this is fun.
Africa 15 days then home via Angor Wat 4 days and Vietnam 7 days. Leave 29th August.
        Need a house sitter.

My mum had a cat called Riley, named after the headmaster at the school where said kitten was found. I inherited him after mum died. He lived to 22 years old!!!

HOh ... had a look at Reggiecam this morning and there were two beautiful hot air balloons gliding across the Melbourne skyline at dawn. Bloody beautiful.
Can someone bump the reggiecam for me please? I forgot to copy it.

Did you see the nine ex battery hens on River Cottage last night on ABC1?

AND I switched off Heston. That man has no respect for animals. I am coming round to Tawny's comment of a coule of months ago..."what's the point".

Missy, tacking routine will be fine, but you may not need to, as you will be pressing the seams in place before you sew, but best to do what your comfortable with.... when are you putting your house on the market... how is the housing market in NZ.....

Feeling so ....erm....vital, I think is the word
Does the community garden have ex battery hens? Would the garden be able to have them? Could this be a future project?

Also, I don't know if you guys remember the woman I told you about that I met when I was shopping for Leon before he came. Her daughter was having her first child in New Zealand, and she was going to go over there but she had to have a tumor removed and radiation for her cancer. So her husband emailed me yesterday to say she will be gone shortly. She never did make it over to New Zealand. I only hope her daughter and granddaughter made it over here for her to spend a little time with her.
So hug someone extra tight tonight. Even if it is O'Reilly.
I went back to Curves to-day Fist time for a VERY long time. Can't do anything involving my feet due to the problem with my left foot, but should drop a few kilos before the trip. My foot is going to e a bit of a problem though as we'll be doing a bit of walking etc. But I have a LEKI pole which I'll take with me. I am REELLY cheesed off with this injury. And it isn't responding all that well to physio, or the orthotics, or the new boots and orthotic bloody shoes I've bought. But as Mr Rags said, it took over 12 months to get to this stage, why expect it to heal in a fortnight.

Oh BTW, the gas bubble is gone.
However, We went to the Scripps Institution. OMG, Emma wants in there so badly. Rags you would LOVE it. I watched a few buddies of mine tee off at Torrey Pines LOVE THAT COURSE. Anyway, these are just from the phone. Promise more pics when I get back...
            Techie,
Gee, I really hope things start improving for you. So how is your eye now the gas bubble is gone?

Is that the research Institute? Oooh oooh oooh...... I'd love to look over it, ass would my
SIL who is a super duper medical researcher . She is thinking about either going back to the UK or the USA as that is where the research is.
            What a shame.

Missy, you can buy rings to go on the curtain rod, they have little holes at the bottom, where you hook the the cutrains onto, that will make them all look the same..

voille is easy enough to sew, I measure and press all the hems first, that makes it a lot easier..for sewing.. also you probably already know this, but make sure you put a new needle in sewing machine before you start, I use a size 14 sharp... if I lived closer to you I would of quite happily made them for you...
Geez, Lilly, do you want to give me sewing lessons? I can give you tuition on bagpipes in return

              OK,
off to cook dinner and pack my gear for tomorrow.
Am doing a refresher underwater photography course.
Am I dumb or what .. The water is about 12 degress. BBBRRRRRRRR.
Though Missy would think that was quite clement!!

The custody hearing for my mates kiddies comes up on 7th August... I have been named as one of the people who will offer assistance to the grandfather in raising the children. I hope all will go well.

Am starting to get excited about the trip, and have just started going through what will I take, etc. Will take as many pairs of extra shoes as I can and leave them there. Will be taking far more clothes than I need to leave there , plus we're taking sandpaper, chisels and screwdrivers for schools. When I offload it I reckon my baggage will only weigh about 5 kilos. Can you imagine trying to explain that to customs???

There are definite signs of spring here ....... the last few days I have been woken by tuis in the early morning, even thought it is still dark. I reckon the birds recognise the signals of the light changing before us humans do, and it has lifted my spirits a bit.
