      Aww Nora,

      Do I know that awful tense, anxious stomach thing. My daughter's 25 and I could cheerfully throttle her at times.

        RC, I do wish you success with your financial matters. It is not usually an easy thing.

        Nora, we have no kids but my heart goes out to you for your son.
        My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

          Thanks JC & Sun. He's really a wonderful man. So very kind & loving. But, he has this trait. This awful trait. He's coming over in a little bit so I'll talk to him.

            hi peeps
            went to see "Spiderman" last night. It was good!!
            Cleaning and organinzing today, the off to the lake
            I will have my cell and Nora knows how to reach me, just in case.
            Hope your talk went well with Casey....
            I got a new Nook, so I have been playing with it...just in time for my un-vacation!

              laundry started- check
              beds stripped - check
              cat fed - check
              Jan fed - sort of checked
              yucky vitamin drink swallowed = check
              vacum - about to be checked
              grocery list prepared for ...hahahahahahahaha...vacation - check
              hubs texting me a gazillion times to "remind" me of stuff he forgot - check, check, and double check
              nap - NOT CHECKED
              son home that is running me on errands and taking me to lake - NOT checked
              Nook calling my name.....LORD yes!!!
              and THAT is my vacation update so far:nutso:

                my father sent us home from the Fourth of July cookout with THREE cases of Heineken and two huges bottles of wine
                I gave them away yesterday
                yay me!

                but i kept all the food!

                  Hi all,
                  MB I have a Kindle Fire, which I got for Christmas and just love. My next book to read is Pride and Prejudice. You can download out of print classic books for free.

                  My pastor this morning said that you can feel Gods spirit on a cool breeze. I will now be reminded that He is there helping me when I feel a breeze.

                    Hi everyone! I haven't been around in a couple of days....been sooooo busy trying to keep all my animals cool in this nasty heat wave!!!!!! I have been reading back ove the posts....it's amazing how far behind you can get when you're not in here for a bit!

                      Des - good to see you. So sorry about this awful heat wave that's affecting so many people. Your poor animals.

                      Sun - I just love that....."you can feel Gods spirit on a cool breeze". Thanks for sharing that. Oh - I have a Kindle Fire that I just love too. Amazon has free books daily and I have read so many good ones. Are you signed up for Pixle of Ink and Ereaders Daily News? If you need the links, send me a PM and I'll e-mail you the links. I've read some good authors this way.

                        Hello All. Just thought I'd stop by and speak. Planning for vacation sounds exciting Mama. Hope you enjoy your new Nook! I love, love, love my Kindle. Never thought I'd enjoy it more than a "real" book, but I am hooked. Now I dislike having to turn pages and hold a book, haha! Plus, any time I see something I just want to read right away (happens often, lol), I can download it immediately. The only drawback, of course, is the cost.

                        Sunbeam, you'll enjoy Pride and Prejudice. I really did. Also, if it's available, download Rebecca. If you haven't read it, it's a great classic.


                        I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. It's miserably hot down here in the south, but we are preparing to go out treasure hunting...my bf's new hobby/toy is a metal detector.

                          LG - My Dad had a metal detector when I was young. He spent many hours. Found lots of coins and jewlrey.
                          I never thought I would like reading the kindle either. But, like you - I'm hooked. :H

                            Hi LG! It is wicked hot here in NC too! I saw that you were in Monroe...that's about 2 hours from me....you should've stopped by! Ha! I have a metal detector too..I LOVE it! I ordered all the supplies needed for detecting on the beach in the sand....I haven't done it here yet...but I used to go to the beach all the time back on Long Island.....fun fun! Let m know if you find anything....supposedly NC and SC has alot of Civil War sites.

                              Hi everybody, Dest,I think the weather has gone mad, Silversione car racing, flooded, watched Wimbledon this pm. one minute brilliant sunshine, next pouring rain, don't know what is worse your heat or our rain. I worked yesterday and went out for lunch with friends today, they are not really drinkers, so no problem there. I'm three weeks into my sobriety now and feeling good. My husband has a kindle, but I'm still into paperbacks, but a kindle would be useful for holiday reading.

                                Paula - you are really doing great!!! Good job!!

                                Even though I have my Kindle, I love bookstores. Especially old bookstores. They are the best. I have so many books thought that I was running out of space. So, the Kindle has helped. :H

                                Has anyone heard from Cinders? I hope that she is doing ok and still feeling well.
