Hello all!

Update on the AA meeting.

It went well!!!
It was so refreshing to hear the men talk to be quite honest.
Especially since so many men in todays society are brought up to be "macho" and never admit to being powerless over something (blablabla)...and they do really cut through the bullshit!

Will I go to another meeting?
I am not sure...

To be quite honest...you really need to become fast friends with someone...it's difficult...a lot of people that just randomly give you their numbers...well...they aren't really too concerned about you as much as themselves...which is only normal.
It's funny how I want to help people and think I know all the answers and am so self assured when I myself am so early in sobriety.

Anyways - the meeting went well.

It doesn't change the fact that I don't want to be pushed into upcoming meetings. I will make that decision. But I did want to let ya'll know that I freaked out for no reason.

So an update...

So glad that it went well. :goodjob:

I was overwhelmed at one meeting by some women taking my directory and writing all their numbers down. I definitely didn't feel comfortable calling them. I have been at the Women's meeting though where there were some people that I felt were sincere in offering me their phone numbers.

I haven't ruled AA completely out. But, I have been more comfortable calling some friends from MWO to talk to.

So an update...

Only got one number from MWO so far. But that is a good idea. I never really thought of that...just like someone suggested that there are AA meetings online. I had no idea!

We'll see if I decide to go to another meeting anytime soon.

Bri I'm so glad you were open to giving it another shot. Keep shopping around, you have nothing to loose by just showing up. Good job on putting yourself out there! :l
