Bridge are your climbing greens the Ceylon spinach? or the Brazilian?

Rags, times have changed since I saw the humpies last...they used to look a lot more down market, rusty tin and no solar panels...
That lunch looks great, and I love the dish.

Hi Bridge, Yeah, they are downright palatial . The one I was in when I was a kiddie, had dirt floor, was all galvanised iron and had 4 bunks, a table and 4 chairs. No space for anything else. And a small fireplace where dad cooked. There was also a kero primus stove.
      Enamel plates and mugs.
All the food dad lugged in on his back. We would go out everyday and collect firewood... and I remember we got some field mushrooms which we put in the hood of my little yellow raincoat. Gee, that's going back a long time.

While I was waiting to be served at the Country Grocer last week, a few customers got into conversation... I had a lovely Italian lady tell me the different types of prosciutto, and another lady told me to go to a butcher at W/wong, and I was able to talk about some cheeses..... It was delightful. One of those "moments"

        Tawn,
You have to really watch those split infinitives.

But they're not as bad as double negatives.... except I can't work one into this sentence

How about 'can't not work one into this sentence'?

You'd freak out at Afrikaans - we use double negatives in practically every 2nd sentence.

E.g.: You mustn't eat that = jy moet dit nie eet nie (you must not eat that not). Or: I can't go = ek kan nie gaan nie (I cannot go not). And so on and so forth...

                :hallo: Undies

I hope everyone is still snug and warm in the drawer!
                I'll do whatever it takes

That's my sort of language... confusing

                    good evening all

got back yesterday after being away in the caravan for the long weekend, was real busy last week getting all packed up and making trakies before we left, as I knew where we were going would be cold.. anyway we had a really good time, went as a group with another 3 familys , son, daughter in law and kids came with there caravan too, took our wee doggies with us too, they were well behaved.. I was pretty spoiled, as son did most of the cooking for us and themselves, It did me good to get away for a while, was feeling really low, hopefully wont be too long before we go again...

off to have dinner, catch yous all later and :l to all

Potato and leek soup with bacon for dinner, rock cakes for dessert and for Sophie's school friends tomorrow - they have become a hit
Feeling much better now after bath and chilling out.
Court adjourned cause police could not be bothered to deliver summons so bit of breathing space there.
Dad comfortable now and sounding chirpier on the phone.
Sorry bout the "all about me" stuff I wish it wasn't
Hope you all have a lovely warm night it's freezing here.
                      Cashy xx

OK folks, I'm going to leave you to it for the evening, take an early one and keep ploughing my way through the Winton Collection.
Tomorrow I think I'd like to do something new and exciting.
