    Army Thread Saturday 4th August

    Hello, hello

    You're doing great, JC :goodjob:

And so are you, Mrs. A!

And how are you feeling, Pingerooney?

I've made us some snacks while I decide what's for dinner. Slices of baguette with cream cheese, smoked salmon & avo. Now what'll it be? Chicken or beef?
    I'll do whatever it takes

That's sweet of you, Whizzy :l

Yep - I'm really enjoying it. I don't normally watch a lot of sport on TV, but this is in a different league.

                              Hello Troopers!!

I was watching the weight-lifting earlier. It never fails to amaze me how somebody who weighs 94 kilos can lift 215 kilos. I really like the track and field events as well. Greece got a second bronze medal in the women's lightweight double sculls. Yay Greece. Good grief. When the Olympics were in Athens, we won 16 medals and 6 of them were gold. One of our athletes was interviewed earlier - she was completing in the women's pole vault and told the interviewer that she didn't even have her own pole for the competition - had to borrow one from someone else - nor was her own coach there, she was coached by someone one else's coach. I felt so sorry for her and another team mate - another pole vaulter as well. The economic crisis is showing it's ugly head everywhere.

On a brighter note, I just had a phone call from older son. Both boys and their girlfriends have gone to Crete for holidays. This is just one of the beaches they'll be enjoying while they're there.

I love Crete, it has a wild beauty all it's own. Stayed there for 6 months the first time I visited Greece. Fantastic!!!
