    :hallo: Army

It is FECKING cold outside - the wind chill factor isn't working in my favour.

I am craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaving another Seattle coffee, but I'm trying to watch my daily spend a little more carefully. Living costs have been soaring lately, but salaries aren't keeping pace. Every month there's more and more month left at the end of my salary. I'm sure it's the same all over, though. :upset:
    Yeppers. Skint here-as usual.
    But healthy and happy. Kinda.
Well done on the smokes, JC!!!!!! I am really going to join you. Yes, I know I keep saying that...:H But I'm preparing meself.
And hello to everyone!!! *waves* I think Mr. Recluse has Piglet by now....Anxiously waiting for photos.

Question for you peeps, there is some white stuff in the sky with holes in it and I can see patches and blue, the thing thats baffling me most is there is this yellow ball, can you shed some light on what it might be

Panno, I think you saw Molly's avatar in the sky...

:hallo: Army. We're having the lasagne I made yesterday for dinner. It's lovely to sit back & relax.

Black weather outside, but nice & snug in front of the gas heater. I'll buy some wood ahead of the long weekend and get the fireplace going for a change.

              Hiya Troopes.

Panno - you made me :H with your big yellow thingey comment.

:goodjob: JC on the SF time your racking up!!

Good to hear you had a great time, Mollers.

ExPatty - forgot to tell you how much I liked that picture of you and your son. Your hair looks a bit longer than the last picture I saw. Very nice, tho'.

Tipster, we had fresh fish today - bream I think they call them in English. I would love lasagna but I haven't made it in years and years. Don't know if I remember how but I guess it would be easy enough to find a recipe online.

BTW - does anyone know a food person called Nigella. Not personally, I mean, just about her. She's on one of the channels here with a programme about making quick and easy food - called "Nigella Express". The stuff looked okay but a zillion calories in a couple of the things she made. Her choccie chip cookies recipe calls for 350 grams or 12 ounces of chocolate chips and it only makes 12 cookies. Good grief.

:wavin: to all of you in the barracks and to any who might drop by later...

                    Yo Whizzy,

I've been clutching the lappy and playing umpteen games to keep me hands occupied but tbh I still miss me ciggies, but I'll keep plodding along.

                    We've had massive thunderstorms again.

Oh and did you know the 'luvverly' Nigella's husband only eats boiled eggs and weetabix.

I've only seen one episode and that was today. She made some kind of deep dish chicken casserole with a puff pastry topping. Plus the choccie chip cookies and a very nice-looking noodle soup. Mind you the dishes she cooked were made with ready-to use things like canned chicken broth rather than your own home-made broth. An American, Rachel Ray made herself a friggin fortune that started with her 30-minute recipes. She did the same thing tho'- lots of ready-to-use ingredients like washed and chopped spinach, etc., etc., which are bloody expensive over here. A bag of mixed salad greens that would only serve two people costs 2 to 3 euro while a head of romaine lettuce costs 50 cents. Saves you time, mind you, but still pricey. The farmers' market was great today. Fresh green grapes, apricots, nectarines, honey-dew melon and baby watermelon all at really good prices as well. Oh, and although I didn't buy any, the fresh figs were only 1.5 euro for a kilo carton. We've got a zillion fig trees in our area, so I never buy them. Just pick them and eat them right off the trees.

:hallo: Mrs. A. Those are very tasty fish indeed. I'm impressed that Mr. A caught one. He must have been thrilled. I assume you had someone grill it for you. There's a place we used to go for holidays where they catch trout straight out of the river next to the taverna and grill them right away. They are just amazingly delicious, when caught and cooked so fresh.

Yep she's married to the ever decreasing Mr Saatchi.

There's no denying she's a boniie lass, but her manner irritates the crap out of me.

Oh and did you know the 'luvverly' Nigella's husband only eats boiled eggs and weetabix.Well, after a chat with Mrs. Goggle, it seems you are right. I found this exerpt from an interview he gave.....

                                What's Nigella's food really like?

I'm sure it's fantastic, but a bit wasted on me. I like toast with Dairylea, followed by Weetabix for supper. It drives Nigella to distraction, frankly, particularly as she gets the blame for my new fat look. But the children love her cooking, and our friends seem to look forward to it.

Do you ever do the cooking?

I can do eggs. And cornflakes.

I found his comments quite amusing.
