I have been using a calendar for years. I put stickers on my AF days, I got some really cute ones on eBay, they seem too nice for my little calendar (I think they're for scrapbooking), but hey, my sobriety deserves fancy stickers! LOL
I hope your calendar is soon full of dots and happy faces too!Outside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

One Step at a Time - August 2012
Hi friends,
Just a quick check in. Had a nice day with my visiting brother and sister who lives near me. We went to an historic recreated village. I attended a church women's social function this evening. I knew wine would be available, but was surprised that maybe 4 of us of the 30 people attending were not drinking. I didn't have or want any. I knew I would drink more at home once I started. I don't want to drink at all.My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Hey all.
(((((((((((Techie)))))))))) Of course, you don't have moobs. :H
Paula - how fun to take them swimming. So glad that you are able to do that. How have you been feeling lately?
Mama - hope son is feeling better soon. So, you're avoiding hubby tonight, huh? Something is going on with mine and I'm not quite sure what. Think he's down.
Sun - glad that you had a good day with your brother & sister. How long is he staying? Great job on not even wanting the wine. :goodjob:
Zen - talk about turning 50. I'm 53!!! :H
I got Kimberley's book today. Just started it & it looks really good so far. I marked my calendar with green x's for all my AF days. I wrote down my average mood for the day (between 1-10). I'm going to do that each evening & mark down exercise. I love looking at all my green x's. I don't have any cool stickers yet though K9. I'll have to look into that.
Off to read."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Good morning all,
Nora - I kept a calendar for the first several months and found it really helpful, at one glance I could see all of the momentum and it made me want to keep going. I'm past seven months now and like all the others say, it really does get much easier and life is so much better. I also received Kimberley's book yesterday and looking forward to reading it. It's a short book so shouldn't take long.
Hope everyone has a good day.2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

Hey Nora, I think that the book and the calendar count as two steps.
For K9, the following are Dean Koontzs five favorite canine books
The Art of Racing in the Rain (Stein)
City (Simak)
Merles Door (Kerasote)
Dogs and Devotion (Monks of New Skete)
Pukka: the Pup after Merle (Kerasote)
My brother will leave tomorrow. As my choir director once said, fresh fish and family stink after three days.My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Allswell - I started reading Kim's book yesterday. It's good so far.
Sun - Do you like Dean Koontz? I met him once at a book signing. Laughed about the 3 day fresh fish & family stink line.
Mama - how you doing? Hubby any better? I know what you mean about 'sucking the life out of you'. Been going thru that with quite a few people lately. Plus, hubby has been depressed lately. He doesn't usually get this way so it's been hard.
Well - back to work. :h"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett
