    415 Days AL Free

My year sober date came and passed last month in July. It wasn't until a week later that I recognized I had forgot to celebrate. Wow! Can you believe that? I guess I have gotten so comfortable with living it slipped my mind

The reality that I can pick up the bottle any time I want to doesn't weigh on me much anymore. It reminds me of a horrible abusive ex that I am thankful now is out of my life and see it as a blessing I came through the other side alive and strong.

I have no use for AL in my life. I use to think "What's the point in having just one drink? It doesn't do anything, you need more!" Now my thinking is "What's the point having a drink at all since I'd be at square one after it?"

Now to quit the nicotine. Bought a new car so don't smoke while driving anymore (I've never had a really nice car) and down to 4 as day. I asked my doctor about Chantix and her response was no. I was a bit confused and she said "Come ask me after your custody case for your child is resolved. For now, hold off on that hurdle just yet" Thought that was funny. She has a good point though.

Hope things are going well. There's life outside of the prison walls of AL.

LOL, I thought that was a strange number of days to celebrate....but....very well done. Making it a year shows some real conviction. And lucky you, you get a brand new car. All I got was a rock(Charlile Brown reference for you younings around here)

Anywho.....that many days certainly deserves some recognition...so.............

Congratulations TurnAround - how wonderful to actually forget your year's anniversary!

I can relate to your analogy and the perfect way for me to now look at alcohol - it's going in my toolbox. Thanks!

I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.
