If you really struggle, consider Amitriptyline. It is an AD, but of a kind that tends to have fewer SEs than SSRIs like Prozac. When used occasionally, it works like a bomb. Or at least, it did for me. I was on it after I reached 30 days and still could not get any sleep. I took it for about 4 months in total.

Yeah, I have that Tipps... 25mg pills. The ex-bf-dentist gave them to me yonks ago as they weren't helping him. Do you just take one when you can't nod off?

Yep.

Its effective for pain relief as well, interestingly enough.

25mg sounds good - it is prescribed at between 50 - 100mg for depression, but at lower dosages for many of its off-label applications

Okay... well, next time I have a sleepless one I'll try one of those. I just read up on them and it doesn't seem like they have bad side effects... so may be a good thing to get me over the hump.
