Raggsy lives such an exciting life

The most exciting thing that has happened to me this week was that a water main burst on our street just before rush hour traffic yesterday :H Lots of excitement in the week ahead though - new carpet being laid on Monday and I have a day off on Tuesday to vacuum the fluff off it :H

Still, it beats a lot of AL-insprired drama

So Bridge - which state are you in??

Ronnie - congrats to your boys.

Mr G - what is the temperature in the water where you swam?? Still less than 11 degrees here ......... I might venture in once it is over 15 degrees.

Hey Techie, you're speaking my language! :disco:

              Hi Missy,

Re water temp. Temperature in the middle of the bay was 12.8C yesterday, so near the beach where i swim it's probably a tad warmer. Here's a local open water swim calender for summer in Victoria. You might find the site interesting.

Kuya - great to have another Kiwi on here ...... we can swap Aussie Jokes :H

Well, undies, a momentous decision was made today. Mr B and I have been talking on and off about going to my nephew's wedding in New York next year. We cant really afford it, but we have never travelled together and have had a trip planned that we have put off for the last three years. Anyway, we woke up this morning, and Qantas had a sale on for exactly the dates that we wanted to travel around and to Atlanta, where my brother lives. And Mr B has air points even though he doesn't have cash So we've booked and we fly out on 6 May 2013 for 6 weeks.

And now I have 15 pay days to save for it!! :H

                          Arvo Undies,

Yikes, Techie ... that's doing my head in!

MrG - your Older Drunk Thread is rocking along beautifully. Well done!

Lilly - hope your internet settles down quick smart. We like hearing from you.

KY - welcome. It'll be great to see you here in the drawer. We're pretty harmless and tend to speak the same lingo.

Missy - I'm so happy for you and Mr.B. The time will fly.

Another fabbo day here - another lavender hedge nixed and burnt and I gotta say, the paddock smells beautiful. But my best news of the day is my experimental bread. The little tackers would probably call it Tiger Bread but it is, in fact, GIRAFFE Bread.

Love the giraffe bread TF. I always laugh at the bakery section of our local supermarche - I swear they use the same recipe for everything, but they cook it differently and call it tiger bread .... or shape it one way and call it a ciabatta, and another way and call it a dinner roll and a third way and call it a bap :H:H

Can you give me some advice on lavender?? I had a couple of plants in plastic pots at the front of my house. I have two pillars that are hollow, smack bang in the middle of the car-turning area, and subject to being hit on occasion - the pots were there as a buffer between cars and pillars! Anyway, the lavender had got very straggly and weather beaten, so about a year ago I replaced them with some new pots with ferns in them, and hid the lavender (complete with pots) at the back of the house, thinking that I would do something with them one day but never have. I just noticed about two weeks back that they have come back to life with the warmer weather, despite having had no attention for the last 18 months. I'm tempted to plant them out in an area of no mans land between me and my neighbor, but they are quite big and the soil there is not high quality. Any thoughts??
