    DWI conviction finally..

after 7 months of nail biting waiting and court dates this past Thursday it finally happened. Luckily, i did not end up fully losing my license for an additional 45 days like i thought (whew) i would but I did get restricted driving for a year then I have to have the Breathalyzer put in my car for another year. Unsupervised probation unless i get caught drinking then it is supervised. I have community service at the Food Bank (which i am oddly excited about) and i owe more money in fines than i can even wrap my mind around. Feeling pretty depressed because it has been looming for so long now and it all finally came to a head but i am glad that part is over and i can start moving forward.
I must suppress the beast within so I can find my way out of the darkness.
    sober since 2/4/12

I remember reading your post all those months ago and how mortified you were.. but hey, you are not drinking so that's a super positive result. Good on you..

        Take care

          HEY STAR

You are doing great! Once these next couple of years are over it will become a memory. It seems to me that the DUI was your "bottom" and you are going forward.

I wish you well my friend. I would have been in your shoes but for the leniency (who knows why??) of the cop who pulled me over and told me to park my car and call for a ride. I was grateful ut back then that did not stop me.

          You are an inspiration!

            Hey Star!

It is as it is, and you'll deal with the result. You're doing fabulously and I'm certain you'll continue to do so.

            Now, onwards girlfriend, onwards!!!!

So happy that you at least got the court stuff over and will be able to drive, even if it is on a restricted basis. Is that a work type license. where you can drive between certain hours? It doesn't exist in my state. I will hopefully get my license back in three months, and it will be thirteen months since I last drove. and I have to have the Interlock, too. Fines? Fees? Yes, I know what you mean. But just think how far you'e come and how well you have done! I am really proud of you!!

                  Hi Star!

I'm glad you can move on now...you WILL get past this. I wish my 2 DUI's would have been my "bottom"...but no, I perservered for several more years and kept right on drinking. Learn from your mistake and move forward. You are doing awesome!
