Dear Gypsi,

I just found this thread and read your blog. Reading your account of Jim's struggle for life felt surreal. The further back into the blog that I read the more I felt that I knew Jim, and the more I bargained for his reprieve. I know a little of your own story and it has always resounded with courage. Now I have a sense of why you and Jim chose each other: you were of shared spirit, deeper than soulmates. Your last few months together have been a marathon. I wish for you now space to catch your breath and to celebrate the memories of your shared life, to grieve for what will be lost, and, in time, to heal.

I am sending loving thoughts on a star through the darkening sky.

Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. Almost 13 days with no food or water, yet he hangs on. For what, I don't know. There is no recovery, there's only an ending...

You may not know it, but all of you are part of my support right now. I may not write often, and I may not check in often, but knowing you are there makes a huge difference now. Helps to keep me from tripping over the edge, saying 'fuck it' and not only gettin' drunk, but choosing to stay there. His family has done nothing but yell and scream at me, calling me every name in the book for choices that I was forced to make based on the help (or lack of, in their case) I had. Knowing that all of you are out there, supporting and loving me in spite of who I am down deep, plus what few friends I have locally, have kept me going.
