    Weekends are the worst

I can be happy sober all week, it gets to friday night and electric lights seem to come on in my brain screaming PARTY

thankfully i'm still sober though, I guess its the memories of a dead lifestyle, but by hell, its not easy saying goodbye to it !

    Weekends are the worst

From my perspective as a newbie:

Last weekend I was drinking. It was horrible. I didn't even really enjoy the drinks, I was hungover on Sunday, tired and depressed.

This weekend I was not drinking. It has been much better. Therefore from now on, my new opinion is that non-drinking weekends are the best.
Life is better without Alcohol. 5/26/13

      Weekends are the worst

the weekend may be the hardest habit to break, the tradition of friday, saturday night partying... but on the other hand, the shame, regret, self loathing, hangover, depression, anxiety is the best bit to leave behind. to not be the one crawling into work shamefaced on monday morning hoping that you didnt see anyone from work, or shaking after the weekends excess. sober sundays are the best.
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

          Weekends are the worst

Weekends are certainly the worst for me. The solution is finding something to do instead, my life is so exciting, I read the papers go for walks when it's not pouring with rain, cook lunch, try to do anything other than drink. Got to stay sober, Downton on tv tonight. Tomorrow I will be so pleased that I didn't drink.

Netflix and reading have become my new normal......it's just not fun anymore.....of course, I am 51 married and content to stay home
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

              Weekends are the worst

Weekends in the early days was tougher for me as well (although not as tough as previous quits weekends) and I agree, we are more programmed to get wasted on a Fri/Sat. nights because we got the next day off to deal with the hangovers.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

                  Weekends are the worst

Weekends are great now ! Was out on Saturday night with friends and it was a joy to watch them change right in front of my very eyes from sensible normal people to slurring boring twats . I honestly believe that alcoHELL does not enhance anyone's personality in any way whatsoever ,even moderate drinkers change when they drink . It really is a ghastly substance when you stand back and look at it.

Hi Molly, I totally get looking forward to twatville but when I have ventured out the people I've been with have, like you said, had one or two glasses which they sipped for hours. I felt cheated! I'd got my head straight for actually going out and thought how interesting it would be to observe others getting drunk. Made me realise though I'd been changing my life and I don't actually have any serious drinking friends anymore, well at least not locally. Oh yeah I moved away and made some sober friends!
