UNDEROOS - Rocktober - Yeah baby!

Afterwards we went to a land mine museum and a war museum. This chap has defused thousands of mines and leads teams to minefields to clear them.

At the war museum, the guide there had been shot 3 times and had a couple of fingers missing as a result of a landmine.
After giving them a donation, I spied these beautiful little kittens, so I gave them a few more coins and asked them to get some food for mummy cat and her babies.

About 5 km from the centre of town is a monastery where PolPot had one of the killing fields.

The remains have been collected and are on open display as a reminder of those dreadful times and for us all to pay our respect…

    Amongst it all is beauty.

Back in town the public service doesn’t seem to have an accurate measuring device.

That evening I have what you’ve all been waiting for…. A fish massage.

Cost of the fish massage? $5.00

Then the nails were done while little fishies nibbled at my feet.

Having a couple of hours to kill before we had to fly home, we went to a theme park. It was a whopping $15 each and not for westerners, although apparently it is extremely popular with Cambodians. Our tour guide hadn’t mentioned it or taken us there… a tuk tuk driver said we would like it. He was wrong. So Undies, if ever you go to Siem Reap, save your money and do not go to the community theme park.
It did however have one saving grace. An area for little kiddies to be terrified witless by the amusing sculptures… Leon, Regina, close your eyes and don’t peek.

By the time we were flying out Mr Rags was quite ill with ‘flu. Our last meal in Cambodia was at Viva. They also have rooms for about $20 a night. Bargain, but maybe a bit noisy as it is on a main street.

Mexican style chicken wings and a tortilla. Their Cambodian food is nicer.

Then, 2 hours later we were on our way home.

I reckon we ought to gather Bridge and Sunny and go on an expedition to Daleys. Leon gets to come too.

Techie - we were hoping to see the meteor shower. Too overcast & city lights here though. Glad that you got to enjoy it.
                Thank you Nora, that's lovely.

I'm looking down the barrel of leftovers for dinner (lips pressed tightly).

You know Rags I would never have dared eat that kind of stuff while travelling. I was always afraid of getting sick. Things must have changed a bit.

About 6 other people. It's a cultural village and it is visited mainly at weekends. Plus at $15 a person, that is way beyond the means of most people.

The food was really really good (except in Africa). We didn't eat heaps of street food, but enough. Only twice I got the mildest upset tummy for about 5 hours over the whole trip. So I guess things have got better over the years.
                            Isn't that dragonfly beaut?
I'm having a lamb chop and salad for dinner with strawberries, blueberries and yoplait for dessert.

I've been thinking about the posts about how lovely it has been to see Leon grow. And Aspy's two wee ones as well. And the lovely Regina (although I missed her photo) and Bridge's, Ronnie's and Happy's bigger ones

Thinking about it because my neice's baby girl is due today. I've been talking to her (my niece) regularly for the last two weeks, but she didn't answer her phone tonight . I hope to be woken in the middle of the night with some good news. Although maybe they were just out for a walk or a coffee.:H

Bloody well hope that baby is born before I head off next week though!!! I cant wait to meet her!!
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
