Well, in class to-day while we were discussing not harming any living being, he sprouts up with "what if I was in the bush and I was hungry, I'd catch an animal and eat it..."

Stupidly I bought into it and said "how would you catch an animal?"
                Sebastian: "With my bare hands"
Raggsy: "And how would you kill it"

Sebastian "I know how to do it"

Why dear God did I not stop it there.... but no bloody Raggsy has to take up the gauntlet....and charge onto the battlefield...

Raggsy: "OK Sebastian, stand up and face the class and tell them how you are going to kill this animal....then start a fire by rubbing two sticks together and cook it"

When he was awfully silent a couple of the children quietly said he was being a bit silly and cruel.

Why oh why..... was I such an idiot allowing a child to ruffle my feathers and disrupt the class.

He kept playing up from time to time and in the end I said
"Sebastian, you seem to be almost begging to be sent over to the office."

So I don't think your Ragsy is the best example of a calm, peaceful and wise Buddhist scripture teacher...

I think Sebastian will become either a real estate agent, car salesman, drug dealer, a psychopathic killer or perhaps an eccentric scientist who becomes a Nobel Laureate or perhaps even a famous renal surgeon who wins the Kincaid medal.... but I doubt it.....

However I do like a good book with pages and texture and you can feel it .... and..... and..... .Kindles are sort of cold and electronic and have to be attached by an umbilical cord to a power source......

I read a bit more into the lad. I reckon he could go either way, with encouragement. I see a kick arse social worker style fella in the making. Call me crazy, old fashioned, or a visionary.

Lilly, your sewing group sounds very relaxing and very zen.

Been on the bush telegraph to Chris' brother. He reckons ya gotta wear it on the opposite side to where you dress. For courting purposes and such like.

Hi folks. It is very difficult to word my feelings at the moment. I tried to get a flight into Boston. My plan was to take a rental car and drive to New York. Unfortunately, I won't be able to travel until Saturday.

My family home in Connecticut was inundated with water damage and is off its foundation. My mom and sister are at my aunts in Ridgefield, Conn, safe but without power. Mom lost both her cats who drowned in the disaster.

My dear friend Chris lost his house on Long Beach Island, NJ. I spent three days there in September before heading to Rhode Island. My family has a small cape cod style cottage there which we rent and was damaged in Irene last year. It is about a mile south of Chris's place. It's gone!

So Undies, continue to pray. Hug your loved ones :h
