Oh Dog I just had an horrid flashback....

Mum and Dad used to have his and hers denture containers.....blue and pink tops......they used to drop huge pink tablets into them every night and soak their teeth....was it polident??? or dentitab????

I used to have vile dreams about it all:H

Uses for Polident

Polident can be used for many things in addition to
cleaning dentures.

If you don't wear dentures, you probably don't give Polident -- a denture cleaner developed by the Block Drug Company in the 1930s -- a second thought. It turns out, however, that Polident is a great item to have on hand as it is a highly effective cleaner for all sorts of household items. Its non-abrasive cleaning power removes stubborn stains and bacteria easily, and without requiring much work. Does this Spark an idea?


Unclogging Drains
The effervescence of Polident makes it a great tool for opening up clogged drains. Depending on the severity of the clog, drop 2 to 4 Polident tablets into the drain and follow them with 1 cup of white vinegar. Let it work for about 15 minutes, then flush the drain with hot water. Shower heads also can be unclogged with Polident. Simply remove the showerhead, soak in a bucket of water and 2 to 4 Polident tablets for a few hours, then scrub and rinse the shower head.

Removing Tough Stains
Polident works wonders on kitchen items like mugs with coffee stains and stubborn food particles left on casserole dishes. Fill the stained dish with warm water, drop a tablet in, then let it soak for a few minutes, or a few hours as needed, to remove the stain with some light scrubbing.

Cleaning Toilets
To freshen up your toilet and to remove mineral deposits from hard water, drop 1 or 2 Polident tablets in the toilet before you go to bed at and let them soak overnight. Scrub with a toilet brush in the morning. Repeat the process the next night if necessary to get the toilet clean, and use regularly to maintain a clean bowl.

Beauty Treatments

If you are dismayed by yellow-stained fingernails caused by wearing nail polish too much, dissolve a Polident tablet in warm water and soak your nails for 15 minutes to whiten your nails. If your nails are severely stained you may need to soak your nails weekly until your nails whiten enough to match the new nail as they grow out.

Cleaning Jewlery

The nooks and crannies of rings, earrings and bracelets can be quite difficult to clean without having a professional jeweler do it for you. To maintain your jewelry yourself, soak it in warm water and a dissolved Polident tablet to remove grimy buildup, and use Polident Denture Cream and a small brush, such as a child's toothbrush, to scrub away any leftover residue. Beware that it is not advised to use Polident on pearls, but stones like diamonds can withstand Polident just fine.

Here at itsallaboutme.com, I woke up and logged into my emails to find that all my referees for the job had been contacted late yesterday afternoon. It was a bit of a surprise for them given that I hadn't told 2/3 that I was applying for the job!! I am quietly confident that I will get the job, but there are a few hurdles to cross yet. And lots of logistics to sort out. Not least of which is whether and/or how our cats will cope with living in inner city Sydney

My head is spinning!!! So I am going to try and have a very quiet weekend and come down to earth.
