UNDEROOS - Rocktober - Yeah baby!

    Goooood mooooorrrrnnniing!!!

A v.quick fly through - on my broom of course, and it's pink and fluffy btw!!!

Yey to our Sunny!! Now I can say, I've got a lovely friend who works at Starbucks.....

Missy - can relate to sorting/packing/storing/chucking.... It is therapeutic at some level, I'm sure. What an adventure for you!

Haven't got time to read back BUT wanted all my peeps here to know I'm VERY important today. My esteemed leader is being presented a prestigious award this arvo for his amazing research - he's a nephrologist. The GG is visiting us and I'm in the official party. Have my new dress on, shoes shined, hair slicked back with bryl-cream, a clean hanky in my purse and cab fare tucked into my bra - there's drinkies after the event!!!! It's comforting to know that when I rock up at the command post tomorrow, that there won't be any cringe worthy moments because of too many bubbles. Mineral water has my kind of bubbles, for cert!!! I've always been in jobs where we sometimes rub shoulders with the top end of town but this is the first time in a while and it is for such a worthy recipient. I worked for Clover Moore for a coupla years - mmmmm, the stories I could tell ya!!!!

Rags, I would just throb that bike outfit. FH and I have a gorgeous thunderbird, and on the weekend I bought a new helmet to match my groovy jacket BUT when I saw that pic I was thoroughly disappointed with my new purchase!!!

    Get into it you lot.....

Tawny, it's coolish so if you haven't finished your mowing perhaps you should consider doing it today. Just sayin'

Mr G - band room all planned but you better bring your own leady things with power surge protector whatsits.

Spesh smooches to ALL of you!!

    Your girl, Nicey.
It is not what we do, but how much love we put into the doing.

Morning all. Lovely posts so far.

MB, I wish being a domestic goddess paid bills. I love it because most days Leon is beautiful and just chills out with me. Yesterday was one of those more challenging days. I love being at home with him and filling a new role. However with our savings disappearing it's time for me to make enough to pay the mortgage. Although after being home, and not working at my old job, I have come to love cooking more. Home made dumplings I will definitely make again.

Ronnie, wanton chips are just wanton skins covered with your seasoning of choice (I went for garlic and sesame seeds,) and baked in the oven until crisp. They make a great snack or preview to a meal.

Okay all, back down to the post to get Leons passport again. Yesterday I apparently didn't have a needed legal document. This was my third try to do his passport. If it doesn't happen today I might cry to the postmaster. At least my legs are getting exercise.

      Have a good Thursday!

BTW Bridge , Happs, do you like the wrap round skirt I got at the Siem Reapmarkets? I just had to take the hem up 4 inches.
I do love it. Anything loose and comfortable is OK with me.

I've decided I'm not going to buy people presents any more. I'm going to buy them experiences. Theatre tickets, exhibitions, shows, days out, cooking classes, that kind of thing. There's too much 'stuff' in the world.

                            CAMBODIA

So, when we cleared customs which took about 30 seconds, we were greeted by a lovely lady who said she was our Intrepid guide. She leads us to a lovely air conditioned Toyota Camry. On the way to the hotel I ask how many others are on the trip with us. “There’s no-one else, just you” How good is that! We were expecting to be in a group of ten or more.

At the hotel I notice a tree is spoiling my view so I ask the owners if they’d please remove it.

Time to do a bit of washing before we nip out to lunch… but wait…no plug. No worries.
Just grab a plastic bag, fill with water add the little supply of SA8 and bingo, stains soaking out as I speak.

Next day we used a laundry across the street in an alleyway. What would have cost over $38 if the hotel did it ended up costing about $8.70… washed, ironed and folded, 3 hour express service..
OMG I am writing about how to do washing when I should be out there doing touristy stuff.
A quick shower, then nip next door to VIVA! for lunch before being picked up for our first temple tour. It’s a big bar/restaurant hotel painted brilliant bright orange right on one of the main corners in town.

My first meal in Cambodia… Wow! What a wonderful introduction. Great presentation. Great taste. Washed down with a mango lassi.
The staples were a bit of a let down. At other restaurants they use toothpicks. Great idea for a bbq except I don't have banana plants where I am now. Had them in Kiama and used them for cooking fish and rice .

Siem Rep tourist authority has done well. The restaurant had a swag of maps, drinking and dining booklets and what to do booklets… terrific… and free.

Non hoarders please note… those booklets are valuable lifetime mementos.

Walking back to the hotel I notice that there are double sets of traffic lights. One at usual height, and another set at rickshaw height.

Yeah, I know. I moved 6 tonne a few months ago.

                              I haven't had a wagon wheel since I was about 11.

Here's the skirt I took up. Bought two. It was quite funny... I was in the market with this seller imploring me to buy, and I said I was too fat for anything she had. No no no she says. Wait. She goes to a pile of skirts and digs these out. Made for you she says. Bargained down to $6 each. I had to buy them.

Non hoarders please note all the valuable lifetime mementos on the table downstairs waiting to be sorted and stored in some dark recess of the laundry cupboard.

I've been doing that for a while now. We also buy the relos Aid Abroad stuff, like 2 goats for an Afgan farmer , a couple of chooks for a Vietnamese etc etc.
My monk loves opera so I bought him a ticket to the opera last year.
My girlfriend bought me and Mr Rags a cheesemaking course a few years ago.

Moving 2 ton of soil is interesting. You get to meditate on the microorganisms contained within, how much moisture content makes up the 2 ton and the different methods you can use to shovel it without doing your back in.
