UNDEROOS - Rocktober - Yeah baby!

At 1:30 pm (sharp) we are picked up and driven to Angor Wat back entrance.
My first glimpse of what was Wat.

I went ape photographing the relief carvings . Our guide was oh so patient. I guess she goes through this with every set of tourists, though she was surprised we didn’t want ourselves in every picture.

Your very own Raggsy standing in the metaphysical (or maybe metaphorical) centre of the universe….
When I asked Mr Rags to stand there he said there could only be one ruler of the universe….
He is a wise and cautious person.

It was so humid. My shirt was soaked and just clinging to me. Drank lots of water. Didn't pee. Is that too much information?

[Have a look at the base of the columns. See how they are worn away all at about the same uniform height?
    Guessing competition. What caused it.

Just a few pics so you get an idea. The place is just so extensive. These are from assorted temples at different sites.
You can see how the jungle would have just swallowed up the place after it was abandoned.

One of the zillion carvings of apsaras.

Our guide was so knowledgeable and gave fantastic commentary but gee it was information overload for me. Mr Rags soaked it up and remembered it all.

Taking a different route to get to a restaurant, there is a bit of a problem. Our vehicle made it through OK. The authorities keep saying they will fix the road. I think it adds to the total holiday experience, though I don't think those tourists thought so. They had to abandon the tuk tuk while the driver tried to get it through..
We had to go back through after lunch to get to the next temple.

Don’t know the name of the restaurant. It is by a river. That’s not much help sorry.
Coconut milk and a mango lassi.

Followed with another beaut curry served in a coconut...

                    Arvo Undies,

Stunning pics as usual Rags. Geesh, Angkor Wat must have an amazing vibe. Stunning, stunning stuff. And of course now, all I want, is a mango lassi or six.

Sorry I've been a bit of a post miser the last couple adaze but I've been doing some deep ponderage. You know ... regarding that child prostitution thing, I don't know if I'm more disgusted with the arsehole Aussie running the show or the fat, ugly, old ***** availing themselves of his services. Makes me rage and I don't know where to direct that anger.

Some more musings. I'm currently supporting a mate whose wife is in an induced coma and waiting for a liver transplant. As you can imagine, he's in a bit of a mess. It's just horrible to realise that in order for her to have a chance, somebody elses luck must run out. She's 41 FFS and no, no booze involved. One good thing that's come out of this is that I actually pulled my finger out yesterday and registered to be an Organ Donor - something I'd been meaning to do forever but just never got around to it. There must be something I've got that could be of use to another human being after I've snuffed it.

It's been a good headspace to tackle something mammoth. Here is the 'Before' as of this morning. Hopefully an 'After' will appear over the weekend.

I'm really trying not to destroy the happy vibe on here but I did want to explain my lack of contributions. It's Blunnies off time and I'd like a Wagon Wheel to go with that Mango Lassi please ...

                      Can they transplant clavicles?
                      I'll do whatever it takes

No. But they do whittle those to a sharp point for use in Saffa eel inspections.

                              WOW!

Far too much to comment on adequately but Rags....far out, is all I can say.

Re your mate's wife Froglette, I've often seen the families of organ recipients not quite know what to do with themselves. Obviously there's profound gratitude, and clearly it was written that the donor's time was up through no action of their own. I think the only thing that a recipient can do is honour the donor's gift in any way they can.

I have no idea how I'll deal with it myself
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

                                Thanks, Bridge.

Had a good chat with old Mrs. Google re Angkor Wat ... geez there's some interesting stuff here - Angkor Wat Facts

I'd seen pics before but really knew bugger all about the place. So again, thanks to an Undie, our horizons are expanded.
