Oh Boozer - I am so sorry to hear about your wife. Please give her great big hugs from the US. I have also heard that gall bladder is very painful. I know you are very worried. :l

        Welcome Dottie!

Paula - my new computer should be arriving tomorrow! I hope. Mine is still functioning but I've been having problems off & on. So, I finally decided that since I'm the one that handles all the finances/records/etc. I really needed to take care of it sooner than later. So, I actually bought a new one before this one went out. This is amazing for me. Another huge step.

Left work with my headache & I'm going to call it a night. I'm even missing my Latin dance class. Drat. Catch you all in the morning. Really happy to have so many new Steppers here. :h

Thanks for the welcome, there was a comment on the sept thread that made me come to look - something regarding that made me think no drama, no worries about being here, and this works for me!
Boozer, at least if it is gall bladder, it can be nicely fixed, so even if it is hard now, it has a decent outcome!! And you asked about weekend cravings, for some reason I managed most Sat and Sundays thru Sept (only one Saturday i think i had a drink) - if is the drive home from work when the voices are the loudest, then the supper/homework/bedtime rituals - and then Friday and the need to celebrate that gets meAfter Friday, when I wake on Saturday, i remember why I don't want to do this!! Short term memory for sure :upset:
Lots of the people I respect and those I have commonality with are hanging here, and the more support the better for me!

                Hi friends,
Paula, not sure what I will do with those extra work days this month, not drink for sure. October has lovely weather, and Halloween gives it a fun theme, so it will all be good.

We biked along a trail yesterday made from the train bed that formerly took people from Boston to provincetown. We stopped at Marconi beach and watched the seals dive through the waves. From this site the first wireless telegraph message was sent across the Atlantic to Great Britain. We stopped for Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Just lovely. Sat later with the dog in the warm sun on our deck. I saw the partial bottle of wine my husband left in the refrigerator, but why ruin a lovely afternoon with alcohol?
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Morning everyone. Quiet night here. My son's football coach called and we have to have Clay's heart checked before he can play again. He has an extra heartbeat and gets really winded and dizzy. I am scared, but i know he will be fine.....He plays so well and so hard, but we are playing it safe. I was stunned into silence last night, but today I am ok.

                      Hello all,

Boozer, I hope the doctors are able to determine the condition. Great that you were able to fight off the craving yesterday.

Sun, you bring up a good point. Why ruin a perfect time with alcohol? All it does is change the focus from a great time to booze and more of it.

Mama, it's best to play it safe and find out what might be the issue. It is always something it seems.

Hope everyone has a great day!

When it comes to our kids we worry for evey little thing but anything to do with the heart is even more frightful. My thoughts are with you, Mama Bear. You have comforted so many on here in times of need. Sending you strength and love.

Good on the coach for picking up on this. Lots of young sports people have problems, my brother a professional rugby player was found to have a murmur which never caused any problems, but he had all the checks, he retired from playing years ago, and now well into middle age and very fit. Your son will be fine. Try not to worry Mama. Pleased your wife is doing ok Boozer. Like you say Mama, one thing after the other.

It's not selfish to want things to go our way, especially with kids. It's a worrying time, Mama, I believe in the power of prayer, so I will certainly say one for you.
