to topa, or not to topa? you?

I am new and have ordered the supplements (m-pak), l-glutamine, the bood and cd's. I currently drink about 4 glasses of wine per evening, most evenings. I can go one week without drinking, but then I will go back to the pattern of 4 glasses a night. Thi si susually a few weeks of drinking, then a week off, etc.. So, I am wondering if I should try the supplements, etc., to start, or to order topa. My goal is to abstain, not moderate. What are your experiences?

    Thank you!

    G'day,

I would be careful before starting Topa. I started Topa only because I tried all other avenues first. It would be good to look at this habit of yours and see how long it's been going on. Then you may want to have a look at your family. Does your family have an alcohol history, i.e. are there alcoholics in your family?

It would be good to see a psychiatrist, too and talk to her about this problem. Don't let her prescribe medicine. Just talk about the issues first. Give yourself a couple of weeks first. You may want to try the supplements first, and see how you go.

Topa is a great medication, but should only be used if there's no other avenue. That's my personal opinion, I have to point out. I'm sure other members will contribute more to this thread.

    Best of luck.

P.S. I have to say, though, Topa helped me in a wonderful way. But I had been trying everything from willpower to Campral, psychiatrists, Alan Carr's books, etc, etc, ..
