Not sure if my opinion matters here (only being on day 3) but I really would sit it out. I once quit for a bit over 30 days, thought I was good to go, went to a party at my sisters and everyone's drinking so after an hour of me explaining to friends and family that I quit and hearing oh you can have just one I believed them and had that one that turned into 2 more years of binge drinking. Better safe then sorry

If you don't feel strong enough, don't go (unless its a close family member or close friend). If you want to go, get the na drinks set before you go and stick to them. Say no and use any excuse that you feel that you need to use to not drink.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

Going to a wedding on saturday
Hi Scottie,
Can you leave the reception early? I would have an 'exit' plan for such occassions. An important part of that plan for me is to have my own transport home, so i can leave early if i'm getting too anxious.
The other option might be not to go. If you really want to go though, can you arrange to leave early? This way you've still turned up and made the effort, and shared a bit of history. BUT, if you are feeling unsure and unsafe, then don't go.
Best wishes mate. G.

Go, and be a shining example to the "newly beloveds" (I think I just made a new word) on how to conduct the start of their time together............sober..........and happy
Good luck, it will probably be tough, but will make the victory that much sweeter when you walk away the winner. If it was easy EVERYBODY would be doin itLiving on Planet Sober since 05/02/11

Going to a wedding on saturday
I went to a wedding recently of a close relative. I had to go. As the night went on, I felt prouder, not more anxious. For once, I didnt cringe when the photos were posted on Facebook. I had a really nice time at that wedding. I visited with some older relatives. You do what works for you.
