Have googled it for you, the result is below.....Its not a chemical drug, its 100% herbal, this doesn't mean its safe for everyone to use as you can see from whats written below, especially if you suffer from any form of liver disease... Medicinal Use
Valerian has uses in herbal medicine as a sedative. It has in the past been recommended for epilepsy but that has not been supported by modern research.
