    Just a quickie....

    This weekend is the first weekend I haven't worn heels, shopped for bling or sat inside wondering what to do. Instead I've been in our garden wrestling palm prongs and frongs, swimming in the pool to cool down after sweating like a tradie and filling 9 massive bags with weeds/rubbish. Also creating a stack of branches from the palms and other trees which is as high as I am.....

    Bridgey - I agree re the garden - now.....

        Morning Missy, Still dark here so I don't yet know what will transpire but it's bound to be good. Being ruthless with someone elses rubbish has inspired me to clean up my act and jettison years worth of accumulated detritus which 'might come in handy one day'. If it hasn't come in handy yet, I doubt there'll be a magical moment in the future.

        Sooo Nice to see Nicey getting into the garden and throbbing it.

          Tawny - we are having a major clean out too. We have decided to go minimalist in Sydney and only take stuff that we like and actually use. Some stuff we will put in storage here, but I'm not paying for storage for anything that we might use sometime in the never never, or has a part missing, or is past its best, or is slightly broken. We've sold a bit of stuff on Trade Me, and anything that doesn't get sold either gets dumped or donated to a good cause!

            That's what I love about Spring, more folk out and about in the gardi. Lots of plant fairs and nurseries with beautiful stock.
            Speaking of which, after a bit of 'big business' today that's where I'll be.

                Hi G. No, we will not rebuild. Insurance issues are still being sorted out. We did NOT have flood insurance. The cost of insurance on a barrier island off New Jersey is astronomical. Most do not have that coverage. So, we are waiting to see how the homeowners claim ends up. In addition, the state and federal government are providing assistance but we have not been called yet. There are thousands and thousands of people waiting. If the damaged property was not your primary residence you wait even longer, which makes sense to me. So many folks are without it's heartbreaking.

                          I'm making homemade mac & cheese. For mom mostly. BTW, she is going home next week. I'm using a recipe a chef friend that I golf with sent me some time ago. It was going so well until I got to instruction "temper the egg!" WTF, my eyes rolled back and my toes curled. Long story short, I'm not using the egg :H

                                Embraced prehistoric killing and slaughtering side of the brain today with the purchase of a four-pack of No More Bugs. Have to wait until Wednesday to let them off so that the cats arent completely locked out of the house for too long. In the mean time I shall savour the pleasure of anticipation while continuing on with frequent applications of ti-tree oilon my poor ankles
