One Step at a Time - November 2012

    Mama:

Yup, I'm w you. I work for a clinic who serve people on Medicaid. Some of these clients come in w the latest version of iphone that I have to hide my older version of iPhone out of shame. Even though they have state sponsored insurance, they go on to tell me that they have to take their pet chinchilla for their biweekly pedi/Mani and they even have medical insurance for the chinchillas.... Ummmmmm... Something is wrong here!!!!

Don't get me wrong, 95% of people I serve are legitimate but there are some that clearly are not. Ok. That's my ranting for the day. I'm limiting myself to one rant a day.

Mama - Yeah, it's okay for her to wear the shorts, it's basically "swimming" attire since they get completely submersed...but it should be modest...so no thong bikini or anything. LOL But of course for church and the convention we wear dresses and the guys wear complete suits.

I'd pay to see Mama serving people their papers then running as she holds on to the girls...thank goodness there are 3 skinny guys that have her back! LOL

          K9,
What is a good gift to get an adult friend who is getting baptized for the first time? ( I asked my husband that, he was no help: "a towel," he said. It took me awhile, he meant to use it to dry her head after the baptism.)

Aaaaaaaugh! Frustrating day. My head is positively throbbing from the barometric pressure changes, the temperature continues to drop, still no power, its getting dark again - i hate it when it gets dark because i cant find anything and I heard we are supposed to get hit with a nor'easter next week! Wish I could find the $&?@ thread but I don't know how to spell it, lol.
Thanks for allowing me to vent. It helped.

Alco - Your husband is funny LOL
I got my daughter a silver necklace and had the charm engraved with her name and baptism date, but that might be too personal for a friend...I would probably just get a card for someone. And a towel. J/K

                        Hi, everyone:

After initial difficulty fitting into mwo forums,, I ll have to say I feel very better now in this thread, so thank you Everyone.

And mama , everytime I type your name the song Bohemian Rhapsody song rings in my head: "mama, just killed a man...."

The baptism gift idea is great. Gotta go visit hallmark later tonight

K9-- have a great baptism day w daughter (is that the correct way to say it?). And don't forget the towel!

Everyone: have a safe happy Saturday. I am stuck at work today while my husband is assasinating evil imaginary people, making the fantasy world we live in such a safer place. (Basically playing video game)

                          Hi, Gals,

Like you, Alkie, I believe this to be my thread, too. It's a good place be.

Still sick here, so haven't felt like posting, or doing much of anything. I have a doctor's appt on Tuesday--first one I could get--but am not hopeful. No chills, fever, aches or pains, so he's going to say he can't do anything for a cold.

K9>Have a delightful day tomorrow. What a purifying day it will be for you and Sierra.

Mama>You sound like you're feeling better. Good. Moocher related: when I was a h.s. librarian some students would tell me they couldn't afford to pay their fines, or for copies made for them, or buy tissues, yet they would come in dressed to the nines. Pissed me off. I said something to one of them one time--in a wise, parental tone--and caught hell from the upper echelon. I still say I was right.

Nurdl>So glad to see you! I was serious when I asked if you needed anything. If you need something I can provide, please tell me! It's the least I could do. Oh, and do you have power yet?

Paula>I don't think we've talked much. Good to see you!

Have a good Saturday night. (I think today's Saturday....)

                            Hey everyone.

Al - this thread gets quiet on the weekend. I'm usually talking to myself. :H Glad you're feeling at home here now. This is definitely the place I come to. I don't know where I would be without it. Well, I do know.....I would be back where I was several years ago.

Paula - hope that work goes ok. Let us know how it goes. I'll be thinking of you. :l I was looking at your signature and realizing how much I love it. So positive.

Juja - sorry you're still feeling sick. I hope that they can give you something for your cold since it's hung on so long. I know what you mean though.

                            Mama - how you feeling?

Nurdl - How's it going there?

Dottie - How are you doing???

Well - I'm at work. Didn't come in until 11. Went to see my psych this morning. Going to add Wellbutrin to the Lexapro. I told her that I'm fighting the depression. I told her that I was fighting it and didn't want to start messing with my meds. But, she suggested adding the Wellbutrin. I'll give it a try. I honestly don't know what's going on with me. So many people with REAL problems. I have nothing to complain about so what's up.

I'm really happy to hear that you all are feeling like this thread is home. This is the place where I feel like I can share (like I just did ) and know that it's ok. Ok - going to finish up my work here so I can get out of here.

Take care all the sickies!! :h

Just finished my firework duty. Most exciting thing that happened was a drunken man streaking, very cold and wet. No major incidents though. Nora, if I hadn't found you lovely folks on mwo, I don't know where I would be now. Hope you feel better soon Juja.

                                Hi Friends,
My greetings especially to the new steppers,:welcome: who have discovered a jewel of mwo. I posted here daily for I guess 5 months. Now, I mostly just read, posting on this thread just on the weekend.

I'm continuing to do well, moving on with my af life. I live in New York State, about 350 miles from New York City. We didn't even lose power during hurricane Sandy. The governor did close the state agency where I work for two days.

Nora, is your sleep improving yet? It seems like managing the apnea could enable you to more easily reach your goals. I had a lot of trouble sleeping due to side effects of a medication that had been increased. I can't imagine trying to function in that sleep deprived mode all the time.

Paula, I know we've talked about Tramadol. It worked very well for me for a week, but then I began losing sleep. I was on 100mg extended release, and it built up in my system, it seems. So now I'm back down to the 50 Mg, kind of back where I started.

Mama, I hope you are all better, along with everyone else who is ailing.

Nurdl, I hope you have power soon. Have you been in those long gas lines?

Take care all, just keep taking those steps.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.
