Ally, I loved Pillars of the Earth. It is uncommon for popular authors to take the time to write really good books like that.
Nora, the Dragon Tattoo books were some of the best I've read, plot after intertwining plot. I didn't go to see all that violence on the big screen, the books are always better.
I just purchased the book Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls for one cent plus 3.99 shipping from Amazon. The Kindle books are often too expensive. I shop for bestsellers from a few years ago. Newer good books I hear about often go on my wish list until the price comes down.
Ok, back to my cleaning. My house is gleaming more than it has for a long time. Not drinking helps make this happen. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Thanks Juja! London is fantastic. I'm loving it. I also am thankful for all of you and your friendship and support. I wouldn't be where I am today with out you! xoxo ~nurdl:notes:
we are human beings with alcohol problems not alcoholics with problems caused by drinking

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving.
We are home. Surgery was a success. Now it's all the pain & recovery. Ouch! He's got 2 incisions about 3 or 4 inches long. One on each side of his lower abdomen.
Mama - hope you feel better.
K9 - have fun on your date.
Zen - your meal sounds wonderful.
Sun - I'm reading the 2nd book now. Really good. I put some of the new ones on my wish list too. Has to be one of my very favorite authors to pay the high prices.
Nurdl - So happy that you're having a great time.
Juja - I know what you mean about being taken care of. It's hard to be the caregiver all the time. I hope you get your internet fixed soon!!!!
Paula - Thinking of you. Sending you big hugs. I miss you. I'm sorry for this hard time you are going thru. I'm sure your sister was wonderful and she is watching over you.
Dottie - Hope you are doing ok. I know it's been so hard lately.
Fennel - are you busy cooking or are you going to the cabin? Don't think you should in hunting season.
Techie - big hugs to you.
Ally - Enjoy your book. I'm about to go start reading again myself.
I hate doing this because I inevitably miss someone. But, just know that I'm thinking about you all but sometimes my mind goes blank.
I also want to say how grateful I am for all of you. You are helping me get to a better place. Thank you for being there & being my friends. :h"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

fternoon all,
Going to a friends for dinner today. Got 2 pies yesterday and am going to make green bean casserole in a few minutes. Should be a bid crowd at her house so that will be a nice change.
I am thankful for everyone here for all the sharing and support.
