It turned into quite a lekker Friday evening. Because the weather was nice and warm and the pool has heated up nicely, Mrs. T and the eldest cub volunteered to do pool duty (lots of leaves and dust after all the wind we had) and ended up having a swim. Next thing we knew, Mum appeared in a t-shirt she borrowed from youngest cub and a sedate black panty, and in she went. It was her 1st swim in longer than she can remember. She had another computer / email lesson later. This time she progressed to at least three paragraphs in each of the two emails she wrote :H:H:H. Ordered pizza to be delivered and fast asleep by 9.30

The garden is taking shape nicely. I need to go and buy a few things for the gardener to make it a bit easier for him. His name is Brighton and he's from Zimbabwe. Quite a sad story, really. He came to South Africa when their economy collapsed a few years back, only to find that unemployment in our country is rife too. He has a wife and 2 kids that he needs to look after. It's a similar situation for our housekeeper - she's also from Zim with two kids, but sans husband. She has full-time work between us and another family, though. I know it sounds very colonial, but keep in mind it's a common setup in Saffaland.
Mrs. T and the other wimminfolk are off to a local mall this morning. It'll leave the eldest cub and I with the run of the house. Yay! We can fart and burp without getting dirty looks

Off to water the garden before things start heating up. It's true what they say: spring is always two months late in Cape Town.
