I wanted to encourage people to express how they felt about this election. I was glad to see that Ann C. expressed that she had a different view than I. Hell my sister loves Obama....Ha! I'm not talking about Religion......Politics..Many people were upset by the returns. I wanted to give them a way to vent . Kardle was very upset......her venting gave her a way to possibly not drink tonight. I don't care if you agree with me......The US has this thing called freedom of speech. I guess I go with that sometimes.....

Kradle, thanks for your input! Some of us are hurting today. We'll get over it. But it's huge, just like any other catastrophe.

Ann - your 2 cents is welcome. No racism. Could care less if he was black, brown, yellow or green. Just expressing what we feel as incompetence. We prayed tonight at dinner for giving our President guidance and bringing our country back to recognizing our constitution and what it stands for. Can we as Republicans/Conservatives do a better job? Yes! Esp as far as immigrants. Should they get a free ride? No. Should they have to pay megabucks to become citizens, no. Should they have equal rights? No, not until they know our constitution. Does Obama?

I am concerned about the millions of votes that are cast fradulantly. Locally, there was a group in a van with many id's and driving all around the neighboring cities voting over and over and over again, laughing all the way.

Perhaps you should READ more carefully TMH, I didn't say the topic was worth nothing, and being from NZ is irrelevant to the point I was making about politics.

TBH I have been on MWO long enough to be able to guess the politics of many here, nothing I have read so far today has changed what I assumed. The predictability of people's nature is often quite scary.

While I didn't vote for Obama (Green party), he inherited the financial mess we are in. He's faced nothing but obstructionism since he's been in office, with a record number of filibusters. I'm all for gay rights and I'm happy to see that our nation is still moving forward. Perhaps someday we will all be equal here. :new:

Sinzel......See it wasn't that bad, you gave your op ion....it's a valid one. I respect your op ion. I come from a multifaceted family. My sister is a Obama supporter, my oldest son is a Libertarian. Myself and my youngest son are Republicans, wife a Democrat, my daughter an Independent. So I'm always discussing politics. It doesn't b other me......but if it bothers you all....then we can stop....Tony

I'm fine with discussion, brother. My candidate lost, too...but we're all Americans at the end of the day, and proud of it. Thank God we have a chance to cast a vote. I know my grandparents didn't have that opportunity in their countries of origin. I am glad to be here.

Hi Sinzel and welcome: We are off AL topic here so hope you don't mind.
This notion is a recycled myth I thought most Americans had finally rejected but I guess not (at least not according to the exit polls where people were STILL blaming George Bush...) Recovery had actually begun as he took office 2009...
Obama had both the HOUSE AND THE SENATE for the first 2 years of his presidency and he got everything he wanted: Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, that silly Lilly Ledbetter thing so poeple could sue more easily....He lost the house because he was taxing the shit out of everyone, boosting that he could get things done faster without congress (Jeez!), republicans should ride in the back of the bus (nothing bigoted about that...) he played more rounds of golf in 2 years than Bush did in 8! and some people had had enough. The only obstructionsim by the republicans was to stop him from taking this country into more finacial ruin which unfortunately (see fiscal cliff at the end of this year and 1 trillion in debt for God's sake...) they were unable to do. You don't comprimise with people who are making horrible decisions and screwing you but of course this is not how the media spins and so we have....well, your post and another 4 years of this nightmare.

I voted for Gay marriage in my state but interestingly Obama was against it when he ran for office originally. (see his debate) He was trying to appear moderate, playing politics and it worked! Then you notice 3 years into his presidency he's all over the Supreme court and the legalization of Gay Marriage. You can say Romney flipped on Pro life -Pro choice but everyone acknowledges that was a change of heart as oppoesed to our Campaigner and Chief's change of politics and opportunity. He is a disgrace. As long as he is in office we will never be equal. Especially if you disagree with him you are called a racist. MLK is rolling in his grave.

Kradle, I'm well aware of Obama's original beliefs, which were the same as Hillary Clinton's.

Still, they changed their beliefs. Like I said, Obama was not my candidate, Jill Stein was. She was totally on board with gay rights, and other stuff I was concerned about.

As for taxes, I know what they're about. My taxes have always been obscenely high, no matter if it was Bush or Obama. That's one reason why I am moving out of the city I am in , and into the rural areas.

In the end, Romney was against my rights, and the rights of women to choose. I am completely against "partial birth" abortion, but I am pro birth control, and the rights of a woman to abort a fetus conceived in rape or incest. Romney was pretty much against these measures.
