Things I've Achieved Since I Quit Drinking (add yours here)

Great idea for a thread Change=Freedom Thank you

Had more AF days than had in all the years I can remember.
Quit crappy part time job thought I needed to help support myself. Now flying totally solo self-employed – yay!
Healed fractured relationship with brother (delighted!)
    Lost 16 lbs
Regular early morning walks and now running.
    Taken up creative endeavours.
Culled unhealthy relationships and discovered new inspiring ones.
    Quit smoking
    Discovered Kryia yoga
Found the strength and confidence to speak my truth, pretty much in the moment (work in progress!)
Spent ridiculous amounts of time on MWO!

That'll do for now but great thread to really think about the changes made. Oh and one more...

Making quiet time to set goals for the year ahead. Onwards and upwards

A few days ago, I started the process of applying to go to graduate school. At 54!!!! I love the sober life because instead of drifting around from day to day, I'm actually making decisions about what I WANT in my life. It's never too late, right?

I'm in the best shape of my life, managing my money so much better, got out of a pretty shitty relationship, came in the top 3 of my age category in several half marathons this year, and I'm going to Thailand in a week. Plus I feel great and look great. This has been a very good year!

My house is cleaner than it has been in quite some time.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

                A few things I've noticed...

                Lost 13 lbs
                Started cooking and cleaning again
Began my long list of maintenance around the house

What joy it is to read about everyone's marvelous accomplishments! I truly felt as if I found a new life 16 months ago.

Some of the great things that have happened:

                  -I really like myself again
-I have a sense of peace and contentment - even when life throws bumps this way.
-My kids are proud of me
-I have completed 2 major work projects
-I am learning to play the accordion - boom chuck!
-I organized a raft trip for my family and friends down the Grand Canyon
-I paid for a lot of this trip with some of the money that no longer goes down my throat or up in smoke. To date - I've 'saved' $10,714! Holy Dinero, Batman!
-I use some of that money for a personal trainer. I've gained a lot of muscle and lost 40 lbs. Got 40 more beer pounds to go.
-I have survived an addiction that tragically destroys so many.
-I am strong enough to help others now.
-I have a great appreciation for GRATITUDE and learning how to practice the attitude of gratitude has helped restore my brain chemistry.

                  -I am happy and whole.

                  AF living is amazing.
                  Sober for the Revolution!

Today is just my 6th day AF, but things that I have achieved already over the past 6 days include:

                    - attending my 1st AA meeting
                    - a full week at work with no hangovers or time off :-)
                    - 3 circuits classes in 5 days :-)
                    - house work on a Friday night (would normally be pissed out my skull at this time) :-)
                    - taking a shower every morning before work (I know it sounds minging, but I would quite regularly skip a shower on the mornings I was rough as couldn't face it).
                    - not rescheduling or cancelling a single meeting at work or re-arranging any catch ups with friends
                    - a feeling of optimism for my future :-)

                      Oh, something I forgot:

                      - haven't smoked in 6 days either (only ever smoked when drinking) :-)
