The Sugar Free Challenge - Who is in??

I am in full sugar binge mode.

Man, it really messes with my enjoyment of life. Really must hit my dopamine release hard.

Even cancelled my date today as I knew I'd be no fun, because of my mood being affected by excess sugar intake.

Hey you crazies! What's up with all the sugar?!
Well, Allan, I hope you have a great evening and eat so many peanut butter cups that you never want to see them again!:H Impossible! What films did you get? Make it back here by Monday at the latest!! You're my partner in crime here, man.

Londoner, I'm happy to hear you aren't going out tonight. Lay low, take care of yourself. Plan on having a healthy day tomorrow, going for a run. I hear what you're saying, I know exactly how you feel. It's like with AL-- it seems like some people can just eat the junk and feel fine, and others of us suffer when we put it into our bodies. I just keep thinking that if I can figure it out for myself and get it more or less under control, my body will be so much happier, as will my mind--

I did get my ass out for a run today-- Allan, I just ran a few laps at a very slow pace. My main goal was getting to the track and I accomplished that! Don't want to scare myself off on the first day! I also managed to eat healthy small meals-- my goal is at least 6 cups of veg a day, which I almost ate-- and only 2 cups of coffee. And I made the "reese's recipe posted a while back with cocoa, coconut oil, a bit of honey and used roasted almonds and cranberries instead of peanut butter. Haven't tried one yet but they look good...
So tomorrow it's the same with nutrition and off to the gym.

hi to NS! and anyone else who might stop by.. Doesn't anyone else want to join us?? Where are you, Skullbuddy??

I'm here! I've posted in the Sugar Free Roll call, Day 2 SF. My sugar binge days were fun, I admit, but I'm enjoying being back on track. Now off to the gym!!

Life, great job on making out to the track, and the diet stuff. Keep it up! Allan and London, enjoy the binge but get your ass back on track tomorrow, that's an order, soldier!

The Sugar Free Challenge - Who is in??

If I wake up without Diabities tomorrow I am going to start sugar free count again.

Total: 3 chocolate bars, 600g triffle, 200g box of Belgian chocolates and a latte. My pancreas hurts really bad... and by my calculations it will take me a week to work of the calories. Yey!

The same story. Weekend, had nothing to do and the weather was miserable to go outside. I actually gave myself two hours to think about my decision. I had no cravings. Did it to escape boredom. So at least it was a rational choice.

In the future I need to keep myself busy and have a back up plan for quite days.

Hey Allan! I'm glad to see you're still with us-- though surprised after all that chocolate! Your bod will be in the mood for some good food tomorrow. See you then!

Thanks for that recipe and the links, Happyplace! The ice cream looks so yummy! I just made a little sweet potato souffl? (may have to stretch your imagination there!) for breakfast with sw pot, egg, coconut flour, walnuts, cinnamon, fine oats and a swig of almond milk-- topped with thinly sliced banana. Wasn't bad, if I don't say so myself!
Loved reading all the old posts-- lots of fun mixed with good info and tips.
I'm off for a short run and then some yoga at home today-- the girls are off to their dad's tomorrow so I don't want to be away too long!:l They like doing the yoga with me, too, which is a plus!

How are you feeling today, Allan? Headache free, I hope!
and Londoner, How are you this fine morning? Raining cats and dogs here, I'm afraid.
Hi Skull! How was the gym yesterday? What did you do?

                  see you all later!

That ice cream sounds good! Wish I had an ice cream maker. You need to hang out here more MHP, we need more positive influences ! DreamThinkDo, we need you, too! All raise our voices:
LIFE WITHOUT ADDED SUGAR NOT ONLY ISN'T BAD, IT IS FULL OF GREAT FOOD AND DEVOID OF FEELING AWFUL BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU ATE!

Maybe for anyone who is really struggling, an organized detox like the one MHP linked to would be useful.

Life, you asked about supplements. I take a few but most of them are more out of habit than anything else. That part of nutrition is so hard to figure out -- whether we're doing ourselves good, harm, or just wasting our money. Two things I'm consistent about taking are fermented cod liver oil and fish oil pills.

It is tough to figure out, but one good tool is constant testing. Blood labs at least once or twice a year, or maybe every other month if you're really motivated. There are companies now that make it a lot easier, like this-

Improve health, fitness, wellness through blood tests, doctors, nutrition - WellnessFX

Some, you pop into a lab for a quick blood draw, some you even just prick your finger and send the sample in the mail. Very quickly, you begin to see where you're deficient or where you may want to supplement. Otherwise, you may be throwing money and effort away for nothing.

Day 4 of eating super clean- No added sugar/gluten. Also learning how to count my macronutrients using a food scale and an app, MyFitnessPal. It's working really well so far. I'll have more details in my Fitness Progress thread.

Feeling good- the initial junk food withdrawal/foggy feeling that always accompanies the first couple days of clean eating has lifted nicely. Now it should be smoother sailing, as long as I stay on track.

Remember folks, it may be hard to get through, but our health is well worth it. Momentum is everything-- once we get some momentum going, feeling good feels a lot better than 30 seconds of dopamine followed by days of feeling shitty.

Hi NS! Who's DareToDream? Did I miss someone? What is the fermented cod liver oil for? I eat a lot of sauerkraut! Does that have the same effect?! I'm looking for a good multivitamin, I think. A good quality one that covers the B's, iron and magnesium..? I think I do a pretty good job eating balanced meals (especially now that I'm eating 8 cups of veggies a day-- that fills you up!) -- I have had a bit of a headache in the evenings, but that could very well be stress--or sitting at this computer 4 hours a night!!

Skull, sounding great, you are! I will swing over to your fitness thread.

Well said and I totally agree!

You get the good bugs from sauerkraut but the CLO has several desirable aspects: http://www.greenpasture.org/fermente...ditional-food/. I love sauerkraut but I bet what you can get where you are is much better! I like kombucha, also, and am trying to develop a taste for kimchi, but that is a tough one for me!

You can also get these types of probiotics from some yogurts, or supplement them in pill form if you don't like any of those foods... Gut flora is very important for healthy living!
