The Sugar Free Challenge - Who is in??

    hi everyone!

Londoner, glad to hear you sounding so positive! The first day back to the gym was a killer for me yesterday-- but afterwards I felt like a million bucks. Hope it goes well for you today.

I tried the Lglut yesterday and I think it helped! I opened the little capsule and put it under my tongue like you said, NS, and I think it helped in the evening. Can that be? That it works so quickly?

I finally went an honest to goodness day completely sf (according to my definition) yesterday and today I'm feeling again like I CAN do it. I don't like the roller coaster I'm on regarding sugar. I don't like feeling so out of control because of SUGAR! So I will continue on this path until I get it!

    How are you, Skull?

Didn't start the day well on the SF front today.

Woke up late. Missed the gym. And fell into my habit of having toast with honey upon waking. That needs to stop. Need to get back into my 16:8 fasts.

I've ordered myself some more L-Tyrosine and also some L-Glut now too. Will be here tomorrow to pick my motivation up and get me back on track.

Have also purchased this book, which is getting good reviews for balancing mood and ridding food addictions.

I'm taking a combo of L Tyrosine and L Phenylalanine and have been for 4 months now... it's working an absolute treat. Throw in an L tryptophan at night and I sleep really well. Negates the need for anti depressants or sleeping aids.. my mood even when I have been drinking over those 4 months has been very stable and calm. All natural Aminos...

Must take a look at that book...

Do you eat coconuts or just the juice?. I try to take a tbspoon of coconut oil every day as well because it's a great anti-fungal
            Hi, Patrice

It is good to see you back on MWO! I hope you connect daily - I think it really helps. I eat all kinds of nuts and don't seem to have any problems with them. I'm not familiar with molds being more associated with one type than another. I eat/use coconut in many forms. There is a whole thread on the benefits of coconut oil somewhere on MWO. I don't really like the water but I use the milk or cream in cooking and use the oil when cooking just about anything at a high temperature, given how stable it is. I use it topically, also. At Trader Joe's, it is sold in both the cooking and personal care product aisles!

You're sounding good, Londoner - so glad you had a great AF weekend!
I don't think anyone can avoid carbs entirely unless they eat nothing but meat and blubber (which some people in the far north do and are perfectly healthy). There are carbs in almost all foods - just not in the form or high dose of so many foods we typically consume.

            Hi, Life

You're sounding great (as now seems to be usual - we're going to miss your upbeat posts when you're on your trip!). The L-glut does work that quickly! In fact, Julia Ross, who Londoner mentions, looks for rapid effects of most of the amino acids in her practice. She pretty much makes her diagnoses based on a person's responses. She also has a Mood Cure book. Her original work was in all sorts if addictions. I've listened to her interviews on several podcasts - she's very interesting and has had considerable success.

My current dilemma is making a dessert that will work for those of us who avoid sugar but is sufficiently sweet for others who need a pretty high dose of that taste to enjoy the food... Might end up with 2 offerings!

            Have a great day! NS

Thanks No Sugar.. Yeah the coconuts are great. I live in the tropics so they just fall off the trees here... I'm trying to learn how to cut them and extract the oil ( it aint easy!, there is certainly a knack for opening them )

                    Hey Londoner Thanks!

The way they do it here is the Hawaiian way.. but every time I try I seem to encounter that nut a bit too soon... and then the machete gets stuck!! Maybe that needs to be sharpened or I need to beef up my forearms!

                    Love the Trinidad Way

                    Cheers for that

Now that is a good idea -- I could dip various fruits in one or the other. Thanks!

The Sugar Free Challenge - Who is in??

                        Morning no sugar-ers.

Today is day 1 again for me. I have recovered from my alcohol binge now. Now I need to recover from my sugar binge.

My body feels inflamed. So today I start my L-glutamine and l-tyrosine supplementation. That should improve my mood and kill sugar cravings.

The next step will be to get a nutritious shop in - plenty of vegetables, nuts and proteins.

Then, I will get my workout in tomorrow morning.

Things should be feeling good by Thursday.

And then I hope to have a better mental state that will allow me to work my ass off before Christmas as I look to build some new business.

                        Meditation anyone?

Low and behold guys. Bone broth is rich in L-glutamine.

L-glutamine is used in leaky gut healing.

I'm telling you, a good gelatinous bone broth is a wonder food.

Chicken bone broth is being made as we speak .

Have you looked into resistant starch, Londoner? The recent (non-scientific reports) discussions I've seen about it are at Free The Animal. Using it for maximizing performance seems reasonable, as well as for the general health benefits.

How do you make chicken bone broth.. do you use a cooked chicken carcess? or an uncooked one?

I don't have a slow cooker.. can it be made like stock slowly on a gas burner?

                              Thanks!
