Yeah - you can do it on the gas cooker. I use the slow cooker though.
Try and get a mixture of red and yellow marrow bones in there. I use a variety of bones and throw a couple of good chicken carcusses in too. Lamb/beef/chicken are what I use. I find the chicken is essential to make a nice gelatinous broth. Gelatin is great for healing the digestive tract. Also, try to get cartilage in there too - the collagen is great for your skin, hair and nails.
Leave the bones to soak in water with 2 tbsps of vinegar for an hour or so.
Then I chop up some celery, onions, garlic and carrots and throw it in and leave it to cook slowly for 12-25 hours.
Try and go grass fed/organic where possible.
