    Santa's Little Underoos

Morning Rogue bludgers and all doodyheads near and not so far,

Noice to wake up without yer hangover ain't it? I reckon it's best just to give the turps away without that lark of a few on the weekends or whenever. You can't beat the relaxed, calm and positive vibe one has when orf the vinegar. We have the energy and self confidence to do things we've always wanted to do. There are absolutely no negatives. Wild and exciting more like it. We miss nothing, and gain everything. There's a skydiving joint on the beach here. I think i'm going to sign up for a crack. :welcome:

There have been unconfirmed reports of a Frog sighting in the Adelaide hills. A woman, not from the area, was seen having devonshire tea with Johnny Diesel, Guy Sebastian, and Ricky Ponting.

Have a beewdy out there Roo's. 29c and sunny here today. Yeaah!

Dud roots. The lot of 'em.

      Hiya Undies,

I'm back and thanks for the hugs which I, for once, graciously accept without GACKage. It's been a bit of a roller coaster but I had to remind myself that we're never given more than we can handle. Apparently.

I took some time out to really focus on priorities. Made a mental flow chart of what needs addressing and in what order. Seemed to make things more manageable when you broke life into bite-sized pieces and devoured the pieces without distraction. It was also good to realise that when you think your emotional lakker band is stretched to breaking point, it actually isn't. Take it off for a few days, put it in the fridge and it will snap back to the point where you'll always find a bit more give.

So the send-off for the Lovely Liver Lady was superb. Sad, funny, dramatic, beautiful, poignant ... and life goes on.

Stroke bloke's ramps, grips and other stuff has been installed and he's started rehab therapy twice a week. Should see some good, solid improvement soon ... and life goes on.

Mum has now forgotten the names of all her grandchildren ... and life goes on.

During this difficult time, I decided to tackle the fags by rationalising that "if you're going to feel like shit you may aswell go for broke and stop smoking because you couldn't possibly feel any worse". Epic fail.

It's good to be back, Undies. I need you silly buggers cause you make me laugh.

Well here you go Bridgey - some news.....

                Hello my Lovely Undies,

Have finally found a minute to update you all. I know you have all been desperately wondering what I’ve been up to!

We went to the Hunter Valley for “A Day on the Green” concert on Saturday. Usually we make a weekend of it, stay over and romp around up there but we just drove up for the latter part of the concert and drove home. One thing about being sober which I absolutely throb, is being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want. One can’t do a lot once one is pissed my lovelies! I paid a fortune for the tickets a while back and the whole reason Iwas so excited was to see Simple Minds again. We went to a Simple Minds concert at the Star Casino a couple of years back and it was amazingly awesome. I wanted that experience again! Alas, I was totally disappointed in Simple Minds and wished we had arrived earlier to hear more of The Church and Devo. Way back when, I thought Devo was a bit way out for me, but they were bloody good! Simple Minds had slowed the tempo down on most of their songs and a few I hardly recognised. Last concert FH caught the gorgeous Mel’s drum stick and I had it framed for him. He almost caught it again, but really I would have much preferred to just go on back stage with Mel and chat about stuff. He is sooooooo yummy. His drum stick smelt of his cologne when FH caught it and had passed it to me for inspection….. Why I smelled it, I’ll never know but mmmmmm….. Anyway, I digress. We were about three rows back from the stage in the Platinum section, and when I was enjoying Devo so much I got even more excited about the potential of enjoyment once Simple Minds hit the stage. Oh well. It poured rain during Devo, and once it stopped and I was ringing wet I got itchy. I couldn’t believe how many people around us got absolutely smashed. One guy was so wasted he went to sleep and people were drawing on his face and doing silly things to him. He slept through the lot – including most of the concert. This is our third visit to Day on the Green. The first was Ronan Keating and then INXS. Both were fabulous concerts and when you think about this last one, it really is quite good value. Four bands for just over $200 each and it starts at 3pm and finishes around 10.30pm. I had to justify this on the trip back because I was feeling ripped off. Home, in bed with a cup of tea just after midnight. Not a bad experience but a wee bit disappointing.

On a recent trip to Bunnings I purchased my very first Christmas Bush and a hand squeezy thing for the hose. I’ve now transplanted my road kill frangipani from a vase to a pot and she is going crazy. My new hand squeezy thing works a treat and is a lot less temperamental than the twisty hose thingy I had. FH found a discarded pine tree a couple of years ago on our routine walk. He jumped in the car once we got home and went back and rescued it and put it in a pot on the balcony. It didn’t die but it didn’t do much either even though he lovingly cared for it and counted it’s little pine coney things regularly. It has now grown a whole new top section and seems pretty pleased with itself.

FH has bought himself some solar Christmas lights, which now adorn the garden and I caught him conversing with the neighbours across the road the other night. He came back all inspired to out do the bloke's Christmas light display directly opposite. Humph – over my dead body!! Speaking of Christmas, I usually make a million Christmas cakes as my gift to people. I can’t think of things to buy people who have most everything and I think they appreciate that I go to some effort to actually make something for them. My little house smells like Christmas every evening and all weekend these days. It is interesting because after the first few cakes I know the recipe off by heart and just go into automatic pilot, but each year I have to get the recipe from my daughter as I can never remember it. I’m going to type it up and file it this year so I don’t have to ask next year. I can usually get six small cakes done each night. I did one for all of my staff last night – it’s a biggy so I only got it done plus two small ones. I do drive bys in the middle of the night sometimes to make sure everyone on my list gets their cake before Christmas. Christmas Day is at our place this year – must be calm…..

So, when FH decided this house was the one his heart desired I pointed out the things I just had to change as soon as we could. The list included the front entry doors (which are now changed) and the wood panelling on the walls in the back area where we spend most of our time. I thought we could remove it but it isn’t going to be so easy, so we decided we would paint it instead. We’ve picked the colour and had this weekend planned to do it. FH’s mother calls last night to get an update (she calls a few times each week) and FH mentions the wood panel painting plan. She says, via him, why would I want to paint it, it looks great just as it is. It doesn’t and I hate it and FH has also said he isn’t that keen on it. All of a sudden it isn’t such a good idea, and I hear him agreeing with her, and perhaps MIL is right – we should leave it. FFS – I said, it’s my wood panelling and I’m painting it! If you like it so much buy some and put it up at your mother’s and go live there!! Was I unnecessarily peeved?? Perhaps so, but everything she says is right. Her decore is green and brown and brown and green. FH is the same, all of his stuff is brown and green or green and brown. How about something a wee bit different???? It’s my home too and so far he has had free range over anything he has wanted to do – some of it I don’t like but you know, you’ve got to compromise don’t you? I’m still stewing over it….. He is on at her to come over from NZ for a weekend soon or for Easter….

Did I tell you we have a new addition to the family? Oscar, a retired Police dog (german shepherd) has come to spend his retirement with us. We’ve had him for a few weeks now and he seems to be settling in quite well. His career was spent as a cadaver dog and because my daughter works for the Dog Unit we had the option of adopting him. He is quite famous for a few of his finds….. He hasn’t been officially signed over yet because he has to be monitored for a while. So far, so good. He is no trouble and of course so well trained he does exactly as he is told immediately. His former handler/owner is waiting to come and visit until he is emotionally ready to see him. It would be so hard to let him go after 8 years working day and night together. He has a new dog to train and bond with. It must have been heartbreaking to let Oscar go. I guess it is hard on Oscar too, but we love him and will look after him well. He had a hydro bath the other day and it is apparent he loves his bath. He was obviously used to rubbing himself all over his handler after the bath because that is exactly what he did to me once I’d dried him off a little. FH doesn’t like picking up his poop when they go for a walk though!

Well, I’m thinking this is enough of my ramblings for now. I was pretty sure though, that you needed to hear all of this…..

I will now leave you alone – for a little while!

                Nicey

Nicey, I loved your update. Makes me feel not so caught up in my life, which is all I feel lately.

Frog, it's nice to have you back. You're a seam in the fabric of this thread, so you can never go for long, otherwise this thread would not be what it is in some ways. And I think we need some Chrissy food porn pictures please when you have some time and want to make yourself a beautiful spread.

Haps, thanks for the checkins. Sometimes I get lost bobbing in the ocean and I forget I have dock I can tie up to when I come home.

Undies, I love the lots of you, Gster, Techie,, Reg, Rags, Corri, Nicey, Lily, Bridge, MB, and all others that embrace this thread with open hearts.

I have been away from home with work about 50 hours a week. When I am not working I am with The little man, getting day care sorted, shopping for him, taking him on playdates. He has multiple girlfriends already. Some days I am so tired I feel like the walking dead. After the holidays I am going to reassess this working full time thing. I might need to make further changes.

Techie, sorry to hear about your loss.

Leon sends hugs and kisses to you all!

Hey Sunny - you're a brill chick for sure!!! Leon is a lucky little munchkin me thinks.

When I was doing my undergrad at Uni in Social Ecology we did this thing with lots of balls of different wool, twine, thread - whatever. Many people stood in a circle and we intertwined our thread, twine, wool, whatever and came up with this amazing little 'piece' which we proudly displayed on the wall of our fellowship room.

For me, the point was that although there were many different 'bits' it all came together to make something unique/special. Just like here........

I'm a broom rider today for sure.

Just had a call from the debit people who look after the gym I used to be a member of. I cancelled my membership weeks before we moved because I just knew I wouldn't make the effort to go straight after work, or travel down to participate. So, cancelling was on my list of things to do before the move. I did what was expected and ticked my list. Now I get a call to say that they weren't notified until the end of last week and that I owed for another month. I sent them the emails I sent to both them and the gym way back when and they say they never received the one addressed to them. I pointed out that the gym should have notified them as part of the cancellation process. They say they have only just heard from the gym... I told them to get rooted........

I think I need a bex and a good lie down..........

Great pics, Raggsy - I would have throbbed one of those mats and I rooly liked the giant sheep. Now, pray tell, did you do a sneaky Raggsy after your trip to NZ as well??

Loved the slice of St.Kilda Life submitted by Mr.G.

Really can't bitch about the siblings. Throb little brother and little sis is my bestie.

You'll be amazed to learn that I lost my waxing virginity today. First.time.ever to have waxed anything privately or publicly. Went for the eyebrows. Yes. Now I look like a startled prawn. Fetching. It goes with my new red-go-fast stripes in my hair. Hairdresser asked what I wanted - I said anything, just dont.be.subtle.
