    Dottie 15 or 30 lbs (-0)

    Ok, we are all going to look super awesome in that evening gown at the Christmas party this year and wow our relatives at Christmas dinners. And by next summer, new day will be in that gorgeous bathing suit! Here we go, ladies! Put down our forks, get our running shoes on, lets go!

      I have a closet full up hope stored in another bedroom, so I'm in. Tired of looking matronly.

      I want to lose 10 lbs.

      I will weigh myself once a week. The fit of the clothes will tell the tale before the scales do.

      We're brave souls to do this during the holidays, but do we really need all that unhealthy food? No, it's like AL--won't do us a darn bit of good, and we'll pay later.

          nora, i want to lose 50 as well! i have lost 6 since i quit, but i hadn't been trying until two fridays ago. joined a gym and have been working out everyday for over an hour (sometimes 2 hours). i burn at least 600 calories a day, so i hope it comes off. i haven't weighed myself since i started going, as i like to do it monthly so i don't get discouraged. i used to run and i miss it, but the fact is i'm too heavy now and it hurts my knees. i have been doing alternate minute of running minute of walking for 20 minutes, just to actually feel like i'm doing it.

          drinking 2-3 bottles of wine a night for over a decade got me this way, it's gonna take a lot of work to change, but i am ready!

            Hi ! Trying to give you lot some hope 11 months sober and I have lost 32lb Not changed any eating habits, eat everything and anything.

              199: Thank you! What an inspiration! But since I quit alcohol, I felt entitled to eat more, so gained more weight!

              Bettygirl: wow 600 calories burn! You go girl!

              This morning I weighed myself, of course I should not be over excited, it's prob just water weight, but I already lost 2.5 lbs! My weight shifts a lot though. I hope it won't creep back!

              My sister used to just walk in place while reading a book and lost a bunch of weight doing that 30 minutes a day!

                Had my green smoothie for breakfast..that is a good way for me to start the day since I am not a breakfast person.
                I don't expect to see anything on the scale until next week..watching what I eat and hitting the gym should really help.

                  I agree Dottie. Breakfast is important because you new the fuel to use for the day, but dinner is kind of a waste of calorie intake when most of us just go to bed. I never believed in exercise but now I really notice more energy and the muscles taking all that sugar and calories I eat.

                  But green smoothie? Green? What's in it, if you don't mind me asking?

                    Dottie: What's in the green smoothie?! I'm glad you go to the gym! I notice exercise really helps my energy!

                    Breakfast is important, but dinner not so much, since I just end up going to bed anyway

                      Still getting the hang of this new scale. Supposed to be a good one, but it seems to fluctuate. If it's accurate, I've gained 2 pounds overnight.:shocked::no:uch::shocked:

                        Oh no, Nora. Keep checking throughout the day. See if you can give me another number to put on the tally, or go run 20 miles then weigh yourself! . Or buy a new scale!

                          I would like to lose 14 lbs and see how things are then. I'm going to really gauge it by the fit of clothes though. Would luuuurve to get back into my wardrobe - well luckily I can still actually get in the wardrobe but the clothes would be good

                              I would like to join you, I need to lose 14lbs. I broke my ankle a few years ago and put weight on then and have never managed to lose it. The only excercise I can do is cycling, it's not going to be easy over christmas but will give it a go.

                                so i started the morning good rode my bike for 35 mins while reading here,but then stopped at the store theres a starbucks in it,i got a peppermint mocha frappucino,those have like 500 calories! its those little extras that are doing me in!
                                I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

                                I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me":thumbsup:
                                Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!
