    Weight Losers

Welcome, Ann, Paula, freely, Nora, new day, Dottie, juja, bettygirl:

    Goals:
    Ann: 30 lbs
    Ally: 30 lbs (-2.5) = 27.5 lb to go
    Pauly: 20 lbs
    Freefly: 14 lbs
Nora: 50 lbs (??+2lb)=52 to go
    New day 15 lbs
    Dottie 15 or 30 lbs
    Juja: 10 lbs
    Bettygirl 50 lbs
    Paula: 14 lbs

Pauly: yes, those Starbucks frapps are so full of cals but so yummy! I was addicted to them! I now force myself to make my own coffee in am. I have a Nespresso machine that makes that foamy drink and I add Splenda. Save me some calories but gosh, everytime I see those frapp, my mouth waters.

Paula: cycling is great! I wish I had a cycle. My knees hurt a lot. You could do you MWO post whole cycling!!!

I thought I bought a treadmill, but what I bought was a treadmill desk without a treadmill! You would think if you paid about $500 a treadmill would come with it?!

Quitting alcohol was my first goal to a healthier lifestyle. Now, I'm committed to lose 30 extra pounds.

Would love it if anyone would like to join in and keep track of weight, share ideas, motivate each other so we can reach our weight goals.

My plan: skip dinner whenever possible, cut carbs, and treadmill/just dance on wii every night.

I want to lose 1-2 pounds a week.

      Ok, here we go:

Day 1: goal 30 lbs (0 lb. loss so far)
Good luck. Never skip dinner. Lose the bread, pasta, and other refined carbs and you'll lose the pounds!

A green smoothie usually has some type of green veggie in it.. I put baby spinach, protein powder, chia seeds, flax seeds frozen mixed berries and almond milk. Put it all in a high speed blender. I take it to work with me..it does look green someday depending on how much spinach or other green I put in it....should be good for me...

          WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY

          Hey All!

You are right Techie-lean protein, low card and veg and fruit-that is the way to go.

I think I am going back to Weight Watchers, which doesn't mean I'm actually going anywhere-I do it online. I am paying for it anyway, and it really does make it easy.

You know guys, it's like anything else. If you want it you can do it.
Believe it and you can achieve it.
The last time I got to a really good weight was from smoking crack so I've come a long way already LOL

Dottie: yes, that's a good way to get veggies in., I don't eat enough veggies...

Techie: I did lose a bunch of weight when I restricted my carbs. That was the best way to lose weight.

Ann: yea, never tried that crack diet. Heard that worked well for many. Lol!

I tried tomato soup diet that was popular in the 80's and lost a bunch of weight once. I love soup so that was a great way to eat vegetables and have lose weight at the same time.

I'm dancing to 5 wii Just Dance songs a day for exercise.

Hi all.....I've just read "Wheat Belly" and decided I would cut out just the wheat grain as much as I can. I love bread and sandwiches, so it has been a challenge. I've bought some gluten-free products, even though the book recommends trying to eliminate all grains....but wheat is apparently the biggest culprit.
Will see how it goes. I'm one of those who can't miss a meal, or I get headachy and cranky, so I have to eat smarter. Glad I never got into those fancy Starbucks coffees, but I do enjoy a latte or cappuccino every once in awhile.

                Hey Alky

The weird thing about the crack deal was that I had no idea that I was losing weight until my pants started falling off. I didn't eat much but when I did eat it was pizza and brownies, since my crack buddy made fabulous brownies.
When I finally got on the scale I was stunned. So I quit the crack (which oddly was NOT hard) and bought smaller clothes and pranced around until I resumed piggish eating and now here I am.

I would not recommend the crack diet. It is VERY expensive.

I love bread too but I had to really limit that. I'm only 5' 3, and I am 150 lbs! (Well 145.5 this morning)

I stopped buttoning my pants and wear long shirts to cover the buttons because of my big gut. Gush, my husband just brought home French fries.... I hate it when he does that!!!!! Ok, a few wont hurt, right?

Arghh! This isn't going so well for me. And I'm damn hungry.

I can't imagine giving up carbs. There's no way, and I know that's my downfall. I eat fruit, vegetables, and lean protein, hardly any junk, but I can't imagine my life without some potatoes, bread and pasta.

We'll see what happens on Monday when I weigh myself.

Juja.....I'm only cutting out wheat for now......I bought some gluten free bread in order to have some toast with eggs, etc (it's not a great substitute, but I'll stick with it for awhile). I also have rice crackers instead of regular ones for snack of cheese, crackers and apple (and they taste fine).
So instead of cutting out all carbs, try just the wheat and see how you get on.

                              Ann: 30 lbs
                              Ally: 27.5 lbs-0.5 lb= 27 lb to go
                              Pauly: 20 lbs
                              Freefly: 14 lbs
                              Nora: 50 lbs
                              New day 15 lbs
                              Dottie 15 or 30 lbs
                              Juja: 10 lbs

                              Paula: 14 lbs

Juja: before I knew it, 1/2 box of those fries was gone. I blame my husband! He offered me a salad first, I said no, then steak sandwich, I declined, then chili, I stuck to my resolve, then fries, then I broke! He was determined to feed me! (Of course I could have said yes to the salad!)

New day, I agree, quitting one thing at time is easier than the a whole bunch at the same time.

I have also heard that if you reach a plateau in your weight loss, try a different weight loss regimen because maybe your body has gotten used to that particular diet.

There is only one FDA approved over the counter diet pill (that I'm aware of) called Alli. I like that name!

Ok gang, keep moving, keep portion sizes small, eat fewer carbs (they destabilize your blood sugar, make you hungrier ), and eat your veggies. And Skip the fries!!!
