Was busy all week !!!!
Have to go to SILs at 2 today. For 30 years this has heralded a MEGA drinking session with stay over etc.
I am driving - another MILESTONE in my little 'Book of Milestones '
Thanks again Army :h
But wish me luck - the boredom threshold will be low and the pressure will be high !:upset:

Oi madam, remember you're doing all the hard graft.:l
Tbh on a day to day basis it's a doddle now - it scares me that sometimes :egad: ............. but take me out of the normal and stick me in a pub or house where there is no escape & I'm in trouble. I will drive - this is on my terms this time
AB on board to ensure success

Back in the day did you used to enjoy it when it was huge drink fest or was it just another chore.
I know we always had a big hoorah with me brother once a year and I came to dread it. I was still drinking but absolutely hated the aftermath. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Mum says to me she'd said to dad that she thought I drank too much. Says she's proud of what I'm doing. SO, that was fairly straight forward.
I THINK - mentioned this over on Stella Chook - my dad just wanted to ignore it. Perhaps he knew, perhaps he didn;t think it was THAT bad, perhaps he liked the joviality, the joie de vivre that came with drink - - and me especially. Perhaps he just didn't want to face it. That sounds harsh... but as I said to me mum, not facing it, ignoring, pushing it under the carpet because "it's not so bad" is only fodder to that part of my brain that says "it's OK to drink... carry on regardless..." But...
We would all have had to face up to it if I ever got caught for drinking over the drink drive limit. Or worse. Took that chance far too often.
Oh... and the job I applied for? Not even an interview. Barstards :H
As you were troops...

Just a quick afternoon fly by. Just saw this on another thread. Think it's wonderful. Being a very grateful MWOer and alcoholic today. I am blessed with some very special friends here and one them is the very lovely Mrs A.
