2013-LET'S DO THIS!
Sounds like fear is the common factor. What motivates me right now is my current disinterest in drinking. I do take a sip of something every day but lately, I put my glass down and don't take the second sip. It's as if my logical side is starting to finally over-take my ego/fear... and THAT's never happened before. I want to do this so badly.Tipplerette
I do this for my children, my grandchildren, my health, my peace of mind, and mostly for the opportunity to learn to live with my true, unfiltered, clear-headed, vulnerable self.

2013-LET'S DO THIS!
Countdown begins... just a few more days until we begin the biggest journey of our lives. Let's envision ourselves this time next year just to pass time waiting to start. What do you hope to see change in your life compared to now? I'll start:
Now
Bloating, red skin, belly bulge, chronic dehydration, dry skin, lack of energy
Then
All round better health and vitality
Now
No confidence in following through on any plan i make
Then
A quiet pride and confidence in being able to achieve anything I set my mind to
Now
An endless cycle of denial, moderation, overdoing it, hangover, determination to change, planning to change, feeling cocky about my ability to change, conveniently forgetting hangover, moderation, overdoing it, hangover, etc...
Then
Ahhhhhhhh !
Gotta have a plan: that's next on my list. We'll share which supplements and practices are helping and really support each other. Thanks so much for starting this Ann.Tipplerette

2013-LET'S DO THIS!
Just a little sidenote for those of you expressing "fear" at the prospect of being AF.
That is a very real, and normal reaction, Id say everyone on here had that fear, or wondering just what life would be like without AL. It wont take long for that fear to give way to strength and confidence.
I urge everyone starting the challenge to set some small attainable(Nelz star awards criteria) goals. I suggest 1 day as first goal, 7 days as the second, and 30 days for your third. When you attain these goals it breeds success, and its success that you can build on.

Day 1 for me guys. I've been drinking more than half my life. It's been fun and so i am not in a big crisis but I'm seeking a healthier path both physically and spiritually. Ideally I'd be a social drinker but think it best I go full AF for now and be the best father, husband and professional I can.
Instead of spending my extra time drinking i will be with my family, exercising, reading, writing, playing music, cooking some killer food, playing golf, investing, and improving my career. I'm looking forward to 2013. Like a friend told me: its time to get serious about living.
