No significant fires close to us as yet.
The RFS have been absolutely fantastic. I have done nothing but administer water to plants and animals all day

Speaking of plants...we've stripped the vegie gardens. Lilly was right, it's ridiculous growing over these months, too hot and no water....any advice about what we should do with the soil in the meantime Bridge? We've got a lot of chook poo :H

Get as much organic material in there as you can get your hands on. Single best way to increase water holding capacity. Wish I could recommend water saving crystals, but honestly they're not much chop and will sometimes even force seedlings out of the ground. Also maybe some slow release fertiliser and defo some organic lifter, that's great stuff and cheaper from the produce in bulk.myhappyplace;1440221 wrote: Speaking of plants...we've stripped the vegie gardens. I gave up on the vegie growing, not enough water, all the work put into it, and nothing at the end of it :upset:
