Hi there Corri, still got your Irish helper around?
Fire up the bikes sounds a great idea, plenty of time to get fixed up before the summer Mr G.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Hope everyone safe from floodings; deja vu watching it on TV last night but thankfully not as bad as last time!

Glad to see you back hale and hearty Techie!

Gawd Tawny, I thought our place was bad. Trying to ressurect an old climbing rose here, but at least it still has some greenery. Are you allowed any watering there?

Just came across delicious little healthy snacks called Flats; has anyone tried them (though they are expensive - next kitchen gadget may be a dehydrator). ourflats

Just getting a blockage cleared; shall never whinge about a plumber's rates again. Oh dear Lord!
          Thanks so much!

Hello Roos and Ovaries that visit.

Ouch Tawny!! I recall a similar drought about five years ago, wasn't it?

Hopefully you get some gentle rains soon, no downpours because that causes flooding on such arid soil.

Morning Cindi, Techie, Frog, and folk everywhere,

Call me dopey, and i am, and having been a little 'self absorbed' the last couple of years, am i noticing extreme and uncommon, unpredictable weather round this country? Floods, fires, floods, fires......I am aware our global weather and temps seem to be changing, but struth. Has our weather here ever been as unstable, wild, and unpredictable as it has been recently?

Hope you have plenty of water for now Frog. Is it exy to ship in if you run out?

Thoughts are with our friends further north.

G'day Missy! Did you check your baggage for redbacks?

                    Ooroo.

There appears to be weather anomlies worldwide. Just two weeks ago I woke to record low temps here in my area. Many of my plants and trees have frost damage. The important thing is we are all safe. Nature has a way of recovering quickly. However, man continues to geo-engineer the weather. Perhaps we are the cause of many of these bizarre weather patterns? Gee, I hope not!

Just saw fives planes spraying over North Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Cave Creek. YIKES!

                      For you Frog...

                        Funky car there Bird.

                        Tawn, that must be heartbreaking.

Mr G. Thakyou... that was terrific!

Corrie, have you named any of the pups yet?

Missy, glad you're back. Wedding sounds ENORMOUS...

Techie, I admire your optimism. I reckon we're well past PNR for mother earth being able to bounce back to what we've known. I tink the changes will continue until a new equilibrium in who knows when is reached.

Spraying what? Any birds falling out of the sky? That's always a giveaway.

So Julia must be Tims wife???Froggy your poor dried up yard. Well ours was almost that bad a couple years back. The pond behind dried up to where I could walk across it and it is very deep...I think most of the weather problems are caused by us, we have things so unbalanced. It was 27 C (yes I had to look that up) here today and it is the middle of winter. My tomato plant never died and now is putting out blooms.......Mr. G that vid was spectacular. I am always looking to make something from junk...I cant see why they continue to build new cars and put out new clothes when there are so many used ones....anyway, just some of my thoughts...I may have a pic of that tree in bloom somewhere...

                            Agree wholeheartedly Bird.

Hope you can find a pic of that magnolia. It must be spectacular in bloom.

I've been doing some digging in the garden this morning and the rain only penetrated about 3 inches. I walked away, and immediately there was a yellow breasted robin and five firetails hunting for insects I'd disturbed. Lovely to watch.

Any of you foodies ever made stuffed cabbage? I really love the dish. My family use to make it years ago but I can't find that recipe. Mom was not any help. Think my nan and my dad made it. Online there are so many variations it's confusing. I remember it not being sweet but infused with lots of thyme.

                                Sorry Techie, cant help.
Any idea of what else was in it besides the thyme? I assume it was a meat dish... minced lamb/chicken or beef?
Anyone else in your family likely to remember or have your nan's recipe?

I'll check out my mum's Coronation Cokkery Book.
