    New Year Underoos.....

Morning Missy, Frog, and all and sundry,

I love the dog on the jetty with the family. Good to see they survived.

There were/are a few fires up your way Frog. Are they near you?

Have a safe and sound day Roo's. Hard not to breath in that bloody smoke in certain parts. That's another hazard.

    Ooroo.

    xpost. G'day Wally.

        New Year Underoos.....

        Hi Y'all,

Tawny, that photo is just amazing. FH showed it to me a few days back, and he has it on the coffee table. Great outcome!!

I could have slept all day. It was a bit darker than usual this morning and I was still in a deep sleep when the wake up tune started playing. Quite pleasant yesterday evening and this morning. Temps will start to climb again today, they say.

Lovely puppies and it is good to hear how Cori is getting on.

A couple of people are off sick today. My daughter said that a lot of people at her work had a terrible summer flu thing last week so I'm hoping we aren't in for it here.

Bus trip home was great. Less than half an hour, door to door. Could be another story once school is back I think. The bus was practically empty and the aircon was freezing cold! It is a great system I think, but largely under utilised and described as a white elephant. I think it is cost prohibitive because it cost me $5 (three stops) one way so that works out at just under $50 week if I bought a weekly ticket. It costs me approx $80 to fill my car, which I do once a month if I'm just going to work and pottering around. So, I was back in the Peugeot this morning.

Hugs to everyone who will pop in!

Hope your day is a bit cooler Lilly!

        Thinking of you often Techie.

MWAH - be happy, be strong, be beautiful!!!

            Morning Tackers.
Those fire images are devastating aren't they?
I find wind incredibly annoying too Missy. It's like someone is pushing at you. I notice kids go a bit mental in the playground in windy weather too.

            50C in Mt Isa.....that's ridiculous....

We have a mercifully cool day with a breeze here. May as well make the most of it and get some stuff done.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

                  Arvo all,

                  How's everybody holding up?

Bird - well done on gobbling those figs. I don't get it - i thought the whole of the US was supposed to be freezing right now.

Happy birthday to little Grinder - bet you enjoyed the day.

Have the day to myself - did some oven stuff, then some housework and then went for a big walk - shist, I've lost a lot of plants. Quite upsetting really. Then had an overwhelming urge to sink a bucket of G&T until I realised I hadn't had any lunch - at 3pm. The old HALT thing really works because after I fanged two mini croissants with ham & cheese & mustard I was perfectly happy with a cup of mint tea. And only a pisshead would drive to the pub in this heat to get gin.

Too true TF. I've ben really struggling for the last week, because I'm trying to lose weight and eating mega-healthily...... I've been really good for about 10 days and have lost precisely 200g. Feeling pissed off about that and feeling like a bottomless pit all the time even when I've just eaten. I caved the other night - found a box of chocolates in the fridge from Xmas that I'd forgotten about and had one. But I'm not beating myself up about that because what I really wanted was a wine!

Anyway, went and got some L-Glut yesterday and Mr B also recommended Thiamin. He reckons it helps to restore balance in the metabolism, so I'll give it a go - I'm quite susceptible to the placebo effect :H:H
