Quick fly through, waving frantically at all and sundry.

Just had a quick peek at 'Come Dine With Me Australia' over lunch.

One of the contestants is a non-drinker. On night one he is offered a bucket full of plonk which he refuses and gets into his sparkling mineral H2O. There are a barage of questions and raised eyebrows, to which he reponds that drinking is 'just not his thing'

Not good enough.

The other guests rapidly designate him a freak show. They 'just don't get' someone who doesn't drink. He makes them nervous and indeed one contestant asserts that Tom looks like a serial killer. They loudly verbalise that they hope he doesn't go psycho when he has a couple. Surely they need not worry either way if he has taken the decision not to drink

Tom's night is designated alcohol free. The other guests respond by smuggling hip flasks of JD in because they can not face one single night without a drink. They inhale it behind his back in between courses.

Another contestant drains a bottle of red whilst cooking before the guests even arrive at hers. Just like someone else I (don't want to) remember.

Do you know what the scariest thing is? It's not an unusual attitude in this country. As a matter of fact, I've heard it all before at DPs.

I am seriously stunned.
We have got a really big problem in this country.
Is it any wonder so many of us struggle so hard?

Yes, theres a problem. You know the other day when I said people were evacuating? One of the houses that did went on to have a party in the street, total piss up. The police had to break them up....

Shit Bridge, that's seriously flawed isn't it... Like, why aren't they looking at their behaviour (yeah, as if I ever did), or just say OK you don't drink and not make a big deal out of it. Yep, we, and many other countries have a problem.

If you're going to smuggle a hard liquor, at least make it a 15 y.o. single malt.

That is all a bit scary particularly as it is sending all the wrong messages to viewers.
I won't be watching it, whatever channel it is on.

On similar lines, when would any restaurant knowing it had 120 diners at the same time give the kitchen only 2 hours to prepare the meal. What crap. That's why MC gives me the shits.

Morning MrG, morning Undies...nothing much to say except its steamy and cats hate getting all their flea/worm tablets. Dog totally lovingit until I started cleaning out his ears. Mozzies out and about so to avoid a repeat of last year and Mr Happs getting jungle fever I'm on alert and trying to avoid and/or kill 'em. Any advice welcome.
