K9 - what type of exercise are you doing?

I'm trying to come up with a plan for my week next week and exercise will be a part of it starting maybe on Saturday...hmmm...I did get a yoga mat and a yoga dvd from my sister for Christmas - but is that really exercise or more for peace of mind and meditation? Lots to think about! LOL.

Hey K9 - question here.....are you planning on staying on the AB for awhile? Are you still taking it everyday? I wish that there was a pill I could just take monthly instead of daily. That's when I seem to have the side effects. So, I'm trying it with 3 times a week right now.

Nora, I took antabuse for a while and stopped taking it because my GP, said he thought there were too many side effects. I have a congenital heart condition, but if I had to make a choice between drinking and the antabuse I think I would choose the latter. I'm sure the side effects of booze outway most other drugs. I have a friend who takes it only when she feels at risk of drinking, she says it is does deter her, as she had a bad reaction after only a small amount of al.

Thanks Paula. I am definitely trying to do this with my plan & mind set. But, I did want to use the antabuse. I am just going to have to really watch the side effects and see what happens.
            Thanks for the advice.:l

                  Hi Nora!

I take AB every other day...but I make a point to put a little purple dot on my calendar on the days that I need to take it...otherwise I may realize I haven't taken them in a week and then all hell could break loose. I really thinking taking them everyday was giving me those horrible headaches, although it took a LONG time for that side effect to kick in. Anyway, I've been doing the every-other-day thing for about a week now and I feel much better. Just be sure to note which days you are scheduled to take them....

Ally, this place changed (and saved) my life too...I'm thankful for the real friends I've found here (now I consider you one of them!)

I worked from home then went to the dentist..seems the bad tooth already had a root canal way back when so I need to see a specialist to decide if I want him to "root" around some more or just pull the darn thing....why does the budget always take a hit just when we are a little ahead....aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Belles, the yoga classes I have taken have been a pretty good workout. Slow, controlled movements definitely build strength. You may want to add something else for cardio though.

You will probably get used to your keypad. I do most of my posting on my Kindle from the comfort of my favorite chair.

Ally, I don't have an Iphone - but I got an IPAD finally at Christmas, and it is easier than picking up a laptop, but I am always messing up the onscreen key pad - I like keyboards. So if I have to post I use a keyboard if possible.

Love the wireless keyboard! now I use the ipad a lot more. so when is your birthday? put that on the list now!

                            Hey all -

Ally - I feel the same way about this place and the people here. :h

Dottie - your poor tooth. :upset:

Belles - sounds like you are really putting together a great plan. :goodjob: I'm still fine tuning mine.

I'm thinking of signing ulp for a yoga class with my hubby. Depends on how he's feeling from his hernia surgery. Hopefully, we can do that. Otherwise, I'll probably go back to the Zumba class by myself. We'll see.

I've been down today. I'm sure it will pass. Nothing big just not as good as I have been. I think I'm going to curl up with my book tonight & just chill. I have my exercise bike all ready but Scott has already gone to lay down in bed so I don't want to bother him while I'm pedaling away in there.

It's really great having you all here. I can just feel the love & support surrounding us. :h:h

Hey All! Sorry I've been MIA. There is so much going on here I can barely keep up and I apologize for missing some important dates, etc. Still so busy here. Guests left today. Youngest and hubs back to school and work tomorrow, oldest to college next week and then... finally... I'll be alone at least for a few hours.
I had "the cold" that seems to be going around but vit C always works miracles for me. Back to yoga and working out tomorrow.
I picked up some of the L-Theanine that has been talked about here. I'll let y'all know if it does anything for me. Still on antabuse.
laters! I do miss you all. Stay the course

Nora, Antabuse gave me horrible headaches, the weird metallic taste, and extreme tiredness. I dropped back to one pill every other night and that has helped tremendously.
Yoga is awesome! In just a few practices I can feel a difference. Being able to stretch and support your own body weight is amazing, as is the practice at balance, the focus and the calmness. I'm loving it!
