Nora, have you tried any of the chain salons? I go to Cost Cutters and have been amazed at how much less I'm paying. They do cuts for $10 all day Wednesday, that's usually when I go. There is more turn- over than at other salons, but sooner or later that happens in the salon business anyway. I've been happy with the results. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Caught the last 20 minutes of Thelma and Louise tonight. I had forgotten what a truly great movie it was, especially for women. I was reminded of how powerful I once felt when I had all my friends close by.:upset:
Then we watched The Big Lebowski...WTF? I had to look it up on Wikipedia to see what I was missing. I know far too many Dudes."Remember, you are responsible for creating your life by every thought, action, choice. Choose well." Oprah Winfrey

I love that movie too Juja! I was going to organize a movie night for us girls but never got around to it. I'm still checking on my friend. He is in a very deep depression. His parents are supposed o leave on Monday, but I'm not sure he's ready. At least he stays in contact with me.
How are you doing by the way?:notes:

Can anyone stay with your friend? Can he go home with his parents? It's frightening to be alone when severely depressed. How about telling him you'll call him everyday at a certain time? That will give him something to hold onto. Hugs to you both.

I'm kind of tone deaf but I thought Hugh jackman sounded good too! But Adam lambert and all these people criticized him... Anyway.. Anyone could be a critic right?
But Anne Hathaway was amazing w her acting and singing that solo at the same time! I was mesmerized...
I tend to do my coloring too...I love using the store bought highlights w the cap pull through.... Need hubby's help though.... Salons usually make my black hair blonde!!!!! Then I have to wear a wig to store and buy a box of coloring to correct at home...Alcoholic (or Ally)

Happy Sunday everyone. Slept in until 9:00 then went to work for a couple hours. Got enough done so that I won't be overwhelmed with it when I walk in the door tomorrow morning. I still have been going thru papers and shredding. But, I think I'm going to sit down with my book for a while.
Hope that everyone is having a wonderful day. :h"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Nora,
Where do you work? I don't think I've ever picked up on that.
Mama,
MLK, jr is my hero, and I'm caucasian. I cannot fathom the courage the man had to have had--fire hoses, attack dogs, being jailed, peaceful protest for basic rights--it boggles my mind. Where do people like him come from?
Watching football to feel connected. Sorry Atlanta lost, Mama.
Hubs and I had a big argument this morning. Things are still tense. I, as usual, caved and apologized, either because I can't take up for myself, was wrong, or I don't know what I want.:upset: Things were much simpler when I was single."Remember, you are responsible for creating your life by every thought, action, choice. Juja - I love MLK too. He was an amazing man. Mama - I can't believe that you were friends with his children. Wow!
Juja - I am really sorry that you had a fight with your husband. I seriously am tired of all the crap. Maybe you & I need to move out and get our own place. :H Seriously though, I know what you mean. I usually just take it. I avoid confrontation. I was not raised in a 'yelling' household so it really bothers me when he flips out and starts cussing & yelling. Most of the time, he's just not feeling well and that's what the problem is. But, it is hard to take.
I work at an aerospace company. Office manager but I do a little bit of everything. Small, family owned business. I've been there for 35 years. I'm crazy! I should have thought more about my retirement and tried to get into a different job. But, at age 54, it's a little hard to try to move to a different job now. After working at one place for so long, that's a red flag for an employer. Oh well - that's life. Anyway, I have keys to the business and am able to go in when I want on the weekend. I get a lot more done when I'm there alone."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

I always wondered as much as we women complain about our husbands why we don't just all form a huge community without men! Maybe once awhile we may need someone to kill a mouse for us but that's about it! *sigh* sad to think my son will turn out to be one of those husbands one day!!!Alcoholic (or Ally)
